One thing I did that helped the issue with my old laptop was setting Nestopia to high priority, but the problem lies in your monitor being able to handle NES's framerate.
Have Retrons been proven to have "well-known inaccuracy"? If so, could I look at the evidence in reference? Thanks!
thanks peri :)
You got the attention you wanted, now don't bother anyone even more.

you can still ask, but at least make an effort to scoll through the past forum posts. imo posts like these aren't that useful as there isn't much discussion but i don't want to sound e. good luck with setting up the auto splitter.
hi hi, very new. i think all of you are cheating. i accuse you for jumping into pipe and no die you no get hit. all is fraud. my papa got like 3:59 in 1999 idk why people hit in 8-3 and why 8 dash 4 got like room one i remember i do not. i will kill and you report. bye bye.
@NameBrandKetchup FCEUX is an NES game emulator. You can run a .lua script to add extra elements to the gameplay and or display some values othewise hidden in the RAM of the game. With SMB, the RAM changes based on preknown things so you can add splits which can compare to the values that come up with that lua script. Download FCEUX, put the SMB1 ROM onto the emulator, Download the lua file, find out which frames the autosplitter splits on compared to what you expect of the time and load the lua file. Note that this is an internal split within FCEUX and it doesn't save best time or whatsoever. It isn't livesplit and its just a simple script that detects the amount of time that has passed to a certain point minus the amount of frames you entered. There are other options but thats the one thats the most functional which has been shared. I am aware Periwinkle has made one for livesplit and I'm excited too, but for now thats one of the only options for what you are aiming for.
https://www.speedrun.com/smb1/thread/0cnds/1#n8p6y there is one for fceux, you need to enter the frame numbers individually. theres also a livesplit auto splitter iirc.
that explains it. Europe version always has weird clips and things due to the fact it was remade to suit the 50fps on european tvs. you should definitely consider getting a NTSC rom if you have intentions of speedrunning SMB 1.
A pal rom on PAL framerate runs like its supposed to, other than pal smb being stupid. you must have a NTSC rom to play on NTSC standards.
Roopert is trying to make a valid point and statement and you go around saying f..., oof and seems like paying no attention to the topic on hand. Also I am aware your English skills aren't the best but I would highly reccomend you to stop making everything seem like sarcasm. I don't have any power against you but it would be nice for you to stop.
idk why but it comes to my mind that maybe pal might be better for even this category. idk why. i think maybe its because of the enourmous amounts of clips you can do
