Forgot Roblox existed. Definitely not gonna commit myself to this board. Anybody who I can trust to be active on here will be given mod.
I've noticed that recently, wallflinging doesn't seem to work any more. If you try using the traditional method, your character will get pushed out of the wall, but only by the slightest amount. You can find a video of me showing this here: To make sure I wasn't imagining things, I used a flinging point that I had used in a previous run of mine, and sure enough, the strategy doesn't seem to work any more. Additionally, walljumping (or ghostjumping, as I like to call it) has been made marginally harder. You can no longer hold W and A/D when walljumping or the wall will push you out; you must angle yourself preemptively and use A/D only.
If wallflinging has really been patched out, it would be disastrous for the Roblox speedrunning community. The majority of WRs and runs I see on here incorporate wallfinging in some form, and they would be all invalidated with this new patch. A lot of rerouting and alternate strategies will have to be used instead. I'd like others to test this out as well, just to see if this is truly the reality, grim as it is.
Whenever I try to start Chapters 1, 2, 3, or 4 on my 100% account, the game lags for a long moment, then the server immediately shuts down. This issues occurs every time, even when I try an alternate account or a guest account. Interestingly enough, this occurred to me on Chapter 7 once, but afterwards the chapter worked normally. Has anyone else experienced this glitch, and if so, is there a way to fix/remedy it? I wanted to get back into speedrunning Any%, but this glitch only allows me to run IL's for half of the chapters in the game.
I'm not saying he cheated, but I looked at the rules for this category and saw this: "-Not allowed to skip any spawn point." Yet around 1:30 in Camelogical's run you can see him skipping the checkpoint for Stage 8, and at the end of the run the userlist still shows him on Stage 7. Does that rule not apply any more, or did people just forget about it?
Even though there's a timer clearly visible in the top left hand corner. SMH.
I found a pretty cool route for the Ninja Jump Challenge mode that comes with the default Blockland, and it could be pretty fun to speedrun, so I was wondering if a category could be added for the gamemode.
The rules indicate that timing begins upon starting Chapter 1 and ends upon "reaching the credits". The first part is straightforward enough, but the second part is rather unclear and can lead to inaccurate times. For example, OverworldYT ends time when the credits fly in, while Ghost3806 and BlazingJames end time when the screen fades to black. Personally, I think that the best place to end time is once you talk to Base Cleph (the grey man with the clipboard) right before the credits. Upon initiating conversation, all player input is disabled, meaning the game essentially ends then and there. And since this is a specific event, this would allow for more accurate times in the players' runs (including my future run, which will hopefully be sub-40). Accidentally posted this in the Guides section, my b.
should be 48:03 instead of 46:03 p.s. i beat the WR () but since i don't have video i guess it doesn't count, rip
