Leighter, I will never forget what you did for me and for those around me. Your generosity was unbridled and indiscriminate, even while you grappled with significant personal demons. I have never faced a monster like the last year of my life and the abuses I have endured very nearly drove me to suicide. I made it through, though, and thanks to your influence I did not lose sight of what it means to give freely of oneself, even when it feels as if everything you have worked for and all that you cherish has been ripped away from you with violent malice. I am grateful to have met you.

Thank you to everyone who donated - over five days we raised $800 for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and while that sum may seem meager in the grand scheme of things, it is well over double the initial goal of $300 I set on the 9th. The mind boggles.

• Second try Cliff Town because securing record during a race on the 69th no-reset run of a charity marathon after a three month long hiatus would have been too legendary and God had to nerf me
