what would you want to use that hot swap for in speedrunning anyway?

Using the hot swap trick with a Tennis cart you could easily warp to World 8 in under 2 minutes.

maybe there is no thing you would use it for. he just wanted to make sure what the rule was. because if there is something you could use hot swapping for that would be an insane development.

Now that I think about it the world counter is based upon how many foot shuffles the tennis player does so you probably could easily manipulate it

Exactly the reason I asked this question. Thankfully, I did get an answer, unfortunately, it does say that it can NOT be done. Though, to clarify, I do not mean any hacking without original published hardware, I mean only hot-swapping a cart. Thanks!
