There could be a separate category called 100% in which you have to collect all the gems, and any% where as soon as you enter that last room you can end you timer
Just to clarify, for the main solo and duo speedruns, you must have all 50 gems and trigger the boss. For the any% category, you just have to trigger the monster.

New-ish status on Flightless from Nitrome
A while ago I reached out to Nitrome about the possibility of gaining access to the other rooms shown in the Steam preview video. These had new entities and other technology that I hoped to test out and maybe include another category for. Here was their response:
