I've tried to get wr on bathurst for a while and the best I've gotten is 1:13:274 so I'm wondering if it's still possible or do I just have skill issue.

it's still possible, your movement may be a little off. It's a lot harder than king street because the hack menu follows a tick system and is complicated to explain (at least for me).
