I’m so new to this website and new to speed running. Just beat Astro bot and really want to try and speed run. Any advice on how to start, or what category to start?

Any% is a good place to start. You can start learning by using the Very Early Any% Route doc by Bdud5 located in Guides. When I started running, I took learning the game one nebula at a time so I could have a chance to play through each several times and refine my movement.
