Found that if you switch your language in-game to Deutsch or Portugues it saves around 0.033 secs. I only did one run for each language so it might be a fps thing since im running 30 fps ( not alot of testing so if anyone else can confirm this let me know).

I'm pretty sure that playing with a wider monitor or with the game zoomed out saves time by letting you hit the enemies sooner at the ending wall.
Comparing my PB and the WR, I am .233 behind sloth going into the vaccine section, but sloth kills the first virus at the ending wall .4 seconds ahead of me. Using the clouds in the background as a visual cue, you can see that sloth is much further back than I am when he hits the virus. My ending was faster than his, but the .4 second difference allowed him to beat me by that much.
I timed different sections of the top 3 runs so here were my findings:
Enter Quarantine Sloth: 59.367 MN: 59.333 Merl: 59.552

Enter Second Wave Sloth: 2:04.367 MN: 2:04.333 Merl: 2:04.621

Finish Sloth: 2:17.900 MN: 2:18.067 Merl: 2:18.310
Since you were playing on a touch screen, the game was more zoomed in, which may have affected the shot distance. It would not have saved enough time for you to get current WR if this had not happened. It seems like mobile has a slight disadvantage but not by much.
