This guide is long overdue, and I apologise for keeping this strat to myself. Where the game is at right now, runners NEED to know this to have any chance of reaching WR pace. This guide will ensure that you are starting each new level as quickly as possible.

First of all, before you begin the speedrun by moving Zeek, turn off the game music. You can find this option under the blue floppy disk icon in the top right. This way the game doesn't have to load in the music for each level (not that you can hear the music either way) and you save time.

Next, you'll want to be holding down the key that corresponds with the direction you want to go in the next level AS SOON as you've collected the mushroom in the previous level. The collection noise is your cue to either quickly switch and hold a different key, or keep holding the key you were holding originally. In this way, level transitions are very similar to general efficient movement throughout the game.

I am aware that no-one has run this game in over a year, but hopefully this trick can help newer players or those who have been following this game for a while. The perfect time has still yet to be set, and I am happy to explain anything you need me to.
