[big][big]Named Glitches:[/big][/big]

  • Bug Tower Skip -- Any method of clearing the final bug room in Act 6 without needing all four bug stacks is disallowed, and any physics glitch boosting the speed or height of your jump -- even if you stay inbounds -- is disallowed.
  • Samwise Gamgee Skip (Descent Skip) -- Jumping down the platforms at the end of Act 5 in a way that lets you skip platforms on the way down is banned.
  • Free Key/Key Duplication -- Using the glitch that allows you to open two locks with one key in Act 5 is banned in Glitchless.
  • S4S (Super Spell Squad Sword Skip) -- Using the glitch that loads the Bard to the right of the Sword at the start of the run, if save data is cleared during the Act 5 Forest Boss, is banned in all Glitchless runs.

[big][big]Other Banned Glitches:[/big][/big]

Physics-related zips and glitches in general are banned. This includes pushing yourself through platforms in Act 3 - Mermaid Ruins, Act 1 - Dreamscape, and other places where it is possible to do so. This is banned even if your character stays in-bounds while doing so.


[big]What is OK?[/big]

Seal movement that keeps you in-bounds (not inside a wall or platform). As of last update, there was no way for a Seal to give you different jump physics or anything of that nature; taking a different path with Seals than intended is efficient routing, and not a glitch. This includes a Seal route that lets you 'exit' a screen from the wrong side of the on-screen arrow; there is no other barrier to you getting to that platform except for the "exit" itself.

Taking a different path through Orderscape that puts you precariously close to a saw is OK - there is one path where it looks like the blade should cut you, but the hitbox either isn't there or isn't big enough. So it's either allow it, or ban making a perfectly normal jump onto a perfectly normal moving platform.

[big]But this thing happened accidentally in my glitchless run, now what?[/big]

Glitches that are not beneficial to the speedrun will likely be OK, but are up to moderator team discretion. There are a couple of ways to end up in places you shouldn't be relatively easily without helping you go faster (the blobs in Chaosscape and the second Jerk Scene in Act 3 come to mind). All Glitchless runs that use S4S will be changed to the glitches-allowed variation of the given run - no exceptions.
