If PCSX2 is not allowed what would be some good possibly cheap recording equipment!

If anyone could possible send me a link to a LiveSplit alternative for linux that would be amazing. And i'm not sure if PCSX2 is allowed or not i do have a regular console but don't have any recording software or hardware for external recording. Thank you so much everyone :D
