You should post this on the N-Sane Trilogy forum...
If you're using OPL for this you should always ask the mods of the game, it shouldn't always be allowed because OPL isn't really legit to begin with. However if you're not using OPL and the game has an "Install to HDD" option, then it shouldn't be a problem since it's a legit option (as in, an official "method").
Tempted to say Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand, sub 2 hours is a thing (if you know the route that is). Imo it's relaxing but that might just be me.
Otherwise, Densetsu No Stafy is pretty relaxing (any% glitchless atleast, wich is 50 ~ 1h10 long i'd say), and so is Initial D Gaiden (racing game that's very easy to pick-up, controls are really simple, ILs are really optimized in general though, also if you try it out make sure to go into the option menu and enable musics first, otherwise you'll probably end up with a headache, also, story modes can take up to 20mn at most i'd say).
VBA is innaccurate in most cases, iirc most people se either Bizhawk or VBA-rr (VBA-M as well ?). If you're not sure you should probably ask the community of the game you want to run tbh.
Imo that shouldn't be allowed, unfair advantage, also if you can't do this via the game's settings then it's even worse.
Yep, eurobeat again...
...because there is never enough eurobeat !
Hai, the Initial D community would like https://www.speedrun.com/user/NotLuigi/info to be removed from the following leaderboards :
https://www.speedrun.com/idas6 https://www.speedrun.com/idas7
He hasn't been on the site for 4 months, and he's also not on the community discord.
Thanks in advance.

Not a bot but may as well delete the account tho.
Why the fuck are you posting this here ?
I was thinking to myself how I was doing everything wrong and how I'll never become a speedrunning pro and shit like that and I started crying. I'm fine now, a little mentally exhausted, but fine nonetheless.
It happens, personnaly though, i think that might be because you take speedrunning too seriously. It's nice to have a good time, but if you don't have fun while playing, then what's the point ?
Also, it's normal to do mistakes, especially when learning a game you've never played casually. Plus, for some games, people who have WR are people who played the game (or other games of the same serie) for a long time (when you think about it, it's just like practicing, except they were just aiming for fun, not for optimized strats).
Anyway, i suggest you just relax for some time and play games you enjoy (or just try new games, casual-style, as long as you don't put any pressure on yourself it's fine imo).
Most people use this : http://livesplit.github.io/ You can also use WSplit, but it has less customizable options.
Hi
Running without a Memory Card / Without Haunting Ground saved data is encouraged as it saves real-time due to some cutscenes not showing unless you have prior completion data.
This doesn't mean that having a save file is banned, it means that having a save file is not recommended, mostly because having a save file would put you at a disadvantage compared to people who does New Game runs without a save file (or memory card).
Also, of course, using a save file lets you skip the last cutscenes, wich lowers In-Game Time quite a bit. However, the leaderboard has been using RTA (real-time) as the main timing for the game, wich means that In-Game Time matters less (but i will not remove In-Game Time from the leaderboard, because i think it's still important to have it).
I will update the rules for New Game category because of this, and also to prevent runners to use New Game+ items while running the New Game category (example : Adamas plate and costumes).
I think doing this will be OK, i also think it is fair, because RTA timing is what matters on the leaderboard, and while using a save file or memory card lowers In-Game Time, it adds extra cutscenes wich makes RTA slower (disadvantage when using a memory card).
