Okay, real talk now, you're right the idea is Not Good™. But in my opinion it's due to all the extra made up rules and just fixing them improves this a lot. Normally Nuzlocke would mean that if you crash, you lose that car and have to abandon the current race and switch to a different car. So I'm already against a full restriction of . Modswap restriction - bad, why? Starting the next race without 10 seconds? MUST skip cutscenes? Why would you do these? Objectively the worst idea of them all. At the end of the day, this is meant to be a speedrun so people would've done it anyways, but it's a bit idiotic to enforce this in rules. That being said, I still don't think just driving 14 races in a row is particularly interesting.
HOWEVER
If you do a run that:
- matches the regular Any% NG rules (so start from zero SP, ends when you beat all 10 blacklist members)
- It's in the true spirit of Nuzlocke (so you if you crash you MUST change your car immediately, that car is dead for the rest of the run)
- you can only switch to cars through the quick menu, you can't "drive" to your next car
- switching to a different car also "kills" that car and you cannot use it again for the remainder of the run
- maybe something else I forgot
Then you maybe have my blessing to add it as a category in the Category Extensions board as Any% Nuzlocke
No specific settings, pcsx2 is the only emulator allowed (you wrote epcsx2 so I'm making sure it's pcsx2, yours sounds like a mobile rendition lol). Iirc you'll get worse time on console anyways due to lower framerate-> less grip, so that's that
Did you try installing just the widescreen fix and seeing how it runs?
Also most runners cap their game to 64fps since it gives the most consistent frametime, or something, idk I don't run mw xdd
I mean don't do it just because that's how mr2 does it
do it because individual levels should be individual levels :d
Yeah just write down IGT and don't worry about it, even if you retimed it yourself we'd have to verify it again
Henlo,
I will be running Racing Mode soon, already completed a practice run, but I was wondering why are PS2 emulators still banned here? PCSX2 is widely considered to be as accurate as real hardware and I haven't seen any other lb on sr.c that still bans emulation so I was curious that maybe it's just an outdated issue because nobody cared?
If your reasoning is faster loads then I've already compared that and the loads on PCSX2 are slower than HDD loads (I compared vs. 1st and 3rd place runs). Unless it's a PAL vs. NTSC thing? Tbh it looks like this entire category should be switched to loadless (or better, IGT) as even DVD vs. HDD gives a huge advantage and not everyone has a pirated console.
So yea lmk if there's any hopes of allowing emus any soon, I'll run anyways but it'll change my approach a lot as I'll be playing from Disc otherwise
Sorry for the edit which looks like a re-submit, the date was wrong for whatever reason
We'd sooner add a car variable than something like this tbh, not a bad idea, I like slow cars myself a lot, but like golden said it's just creating empty boards
Thanks for the question about Game 100%, noone realized there was no info about the objective, it has been added now. Goal is to get 100% in Career and beat all Challenge Series races (in any order), you don't need to do any reward cards (and that's impossible anyways since there are online cards too)
Yeah exactly as chiwie said, WCG stands for World Cyber Games, it's a competition that was held back when the game was new. Basically that competition had their own set of rules which was to play with no Uniques and that's what we've adapted as a name/category in the past.
Similarly they held tournaments for Carbon and WCG banned specific cars from being used, and Carbon WCG also bans them
some games are on the category extension board already, they'll be moved here when we set it up
Imo definitely allowed, for one it doesn't look particularly useful, but overall it's any% so anything goes, nice find if you manage to save time with it
New or not new, the new site design sucks and these miscallenaous categories are difficult to spot :l
Both should work the same, ea play is the replacement for origin
- The rules don't say replays are allowed (idk if there are any on the board right now, per rules I wouldn't verify that but idk)
- There's already a rule about visibility
- That's already a thing, pausing = reject or adding the paused time to the final time
- also already a thing, covered by general gameplay rules
Jeez, timebug all over again but this time cause by emulator exploits? Great.
