I would recommend NG+. Grind out the game and get the necessary weapons for a speedrun. It will take a few hours of grinding. Then I would recommend watching these guys and learning their strats.

He is the best RE5 runner on the planet and I learnt most of the things I did from him.
RTA time starts from when you press yes when you ready up your inventory till the final QTE
let me know if you need anything else
Just logged onto YouTube Gaming. Saw this. . So yeah, watermark your runs.
there is a russian guy that steals a lot of runs
There is a PSX emulator if you don't want to run the PC version.
PC version of RE1 is shite and not usable. RE2/3 are the best versions of the game and the most fairest/accessible. I'm not an emu hater, it is just that RE2 has a perfectly fine PC version. some people
Clix has the best runs of RE1, but that game has the same problem. People duck and weave the emu version because they can't get a wr in the emu version.
None of the top runners have dedicated enough time to a verion outside of the pc version other than pyman and the PSP version for it to be classed as a wr. PC is still more optimised than PSP
I only read a couple of the posts.
My opinion on categories is well known. Yes, people do have problems with PC version of RE2. But instead of trying to fix the problem, they go to another version. Coincidentally, the PC version has the best runs (apart from Claire A PS1). Then when they do a scrubby run and say it is a WR, half the viewers don't know any difference and it makes them look better than they actually are. PSP version is pretty optimised as well, but after that, nah.
Selecgt the version you are using on the timer and it should work.
PSP will always be the fastest. I don't know if anybody has run the vita. Might be a little bit faster than standard emu.
I heard some people were having problems with this edition. I don't know if it is the same problem that you are having though.
This emu becoming "Standard" is pretty bad.
i have a slow PC and it runs perfect so i doubt it. the game is over 15 years old. anything can run it
The English version is a Pentium III
My findings show that there is no time difference whatsoever. Unless an AMD runner can prove that there is a time difference, they are on the backfoot.
Due to some runners saying that AMD is slower and basically adds 3 minutes to the end IGT, I have decided to question these statements and prove that this is not the case. I will be making a video with commentary this evening and will show, down to the frames, that there is no difference, so this is more of a warm up for later on really.
Door skips
It has been said that the loading times are slower on AMD than Intel. There are actually no loading times, but i presume this is what was meant.
Intel Instant Skip - 23-24 frames AMD Instant Skip - 23-24 frames
Intel Delayed skip - 42-45 frames AMD delayed skip - 42-45 frames
Camera changes
Something else that might be considered loading times
Intel - 1 frame AMD - 1 frame
So it is looking pretty similar at the moment. If there is anything else that you want me to time then please comment below.
i deleted my own runs
Due to the already lacking competition on the RE series, it is bad to add extra categories. Feel free to run that category though, but it won't be tracked on these leaderboards.
I think a glitchless category would be good to add.
43'39 was done using a turbo controller because the other wr before me used it.
