Hi all!

I've been watching Minecraft speedrunning on YouTube for awhile now, and Im now getting into the grind for a place on the leaderboard. I am mostly interested in the 1.9+ RSG category. I hope to get a place in the top 10, and I can only dream of getting lucky enough to beat the world record... but I'll give it my best shot! I'm ready for that grind!

I am giving the 1.9+ RSG category a try and I am experiencing some very strange lag problems. I am playing on 1.14.4 with optifine in single player, and I will often get lag spikes where broken blocks don't drop, I can not eat, and entities freeze like you might experience with online server lag, but I am mystified as to what causes it on a single player world. Any advice on how to fix these problems? Also, is a run that experiences these lag issues still valid? thanks a bunch for any help you can give!
