This is probably a better place to ask: http://www.speedrun.com/mrm/forum
Request game might need to be moved somewhere more noticeable. Recently, we've been getting a lot of threads asking where it is.
Comments on runs have been suggested previously, and I'm pretty sure the admins liked the idea. :)
There are multiple runners there with obsolete runs.
For Ratchet and Clank, it would be better to go to those forums and ask the question there. The same to apply to be a moderator, you can ask the super mod(s) through another website (Twitch, Twitter, etc.) or on the forums for that game/series. To request levels, ask the mods of the game. To request games, go here: http://www.speedrun.com/requestgame
Yep, there are heaps of Aussies: http://www.speedrun.com/users/au
Welcome to speedrun.com c:
I know Twin Galaxies do something like that, not sure how popular it is these days, though.
The change to moderation is fine, the original method caused too much drama (like in Resident Evil).
I don't run this game, but you can put splits.io IDs in one of the boxes when you submit runs. If the mods consider that showing your time or not, I have no idea.
Tricks are generally manoeuvres in a game which wouldn't be used by a person who plays it casually, used to save time. Sometimes they can be glitches, sometimes they're just as simple as a clever jump that can save time.
Strats are strategies used to save time. Usually, when people talk about them, they're talking about sets of strats. Some strats are used to get WR, but when you're just starting out or at a marathon, you might use safe strats (which could be easier/less likely to crash the game, but will be slower than other strats).
Splits are timed using a program such as LiveSplit, Llanfair, etc. They're individual sections of the game that are timed using those programs, which show how far in front or behind they are when compared to their PB or the WR. Some people don't use any splits and just use a timer. I'd recommend downloading one of those programs and seeing how it works.
For tricks and strats, every person you ask will probably give a different answer. Ultimately, if you watch enough speedrunning streams, you'll become familiar with the lingo.
You Have To Win The Game - I don't run it much anymore but I still do on occasion. Sly 3 - Levels only. I need a capture card. Saints Row: The Third - Still need to iron down the route after the first hour. Relic Hunters Zero - Can't record it right now but it's a bit of fun.
I really want to learn Persona 4, but I'm not sure I can bring myself to do a full run. The other Sly games are also on my radar.
edit: I've also just started to learn The Stanley Parable.
And that's all the active mods. Cat% has been removed and all runs in the category have been changed to Any%.
And Orange, really? You want a category for a graphical setting? :P
Just wanted to know everyone's opinions on it.
I elected to keep them separate a few months ago when shufunk submitted a Cat run as his Any% PB. I thought they were being treated as separate categories and I also thought it would be a good idea to not have overlapping runs that apply to multiple categories. However, ZZKer just verified his Cat% run as his Any% PB, so obviously my opinion isn't shared with absolutely everyone.
