For this category, time stops when you press the print button. Showing the squirrel dead technically occurs after the run ends.
I use OBS to record. Editing isn't necessary, you can upload the raw footage and timestamp the important parts, if there is a pause before or after the run. For your first speedrun, I recommend running one of the existing categories like DeadSquirrel% - it will give you a feel for how your recording looks without spending several hours on a run and finding out your footage is unusable.
Are you asking for recording studio setup or rules advice?
I did think about a category like this, but with how random it is, I didn't think it would be fun. If you make a run and upload it to youtube, I will make a category for it.
I have updated the game rules to clarify these points.
Hello,
Third person and the driving UI are allowed.
Mods that give advantageous information that isn't available to pancake or VR players count as game changing mods.
Tutorial is not required for any mode. You can start a run with your desired difficulty from the main menu by skipping the tutorial.
Great time! Those jobs were exactly what you needed. Now if only luck can strike twice!
Upload it in two parts with an hour overlap in the middle. This is how we will accept RTA Any% runs until further notice.
Using the map (called Fast Travel) is allowed in all categories except Dead Squirrel% EDIT: and All Stations%
Standard mode is not required for DE6%, that is just what the steam forum thread requires for its challenge. I've updated the rules for that category to make it more clear.
Hello, The "full game" categories can be run in any vanilla difficulty. Issues with having multiple difficulties on one leaderboard will be solved as they arise. I expect that, given the length of a hypothetical any% run, once the fastest mode is discovered, it will be the primary mode people compete with.
External View Dash is when you dash (F key) from external view. You are instantly teleported where you are looking.
Apologies for the delayed response. All runs are timed as RTA, which means no loading during the run. The rules have been updated to reflect this.
I have updated the rules of the game and categories for Simulator's changes.
Although the rules allow for dashing to Farm, I wanted to see how fast I could do it driving the engine all the way from steel mill.
I don't think the mode makes a difference, certainly not in Overhauled, but perhaps also in Simulator. The categories are there simply for the sake of notating them. Now that simulator is here, I will be revisiting the categories once I know more about VR mode and how the difficulty levels affect VR and flatscreen.
