If your category is heavily dependent on RNG, then you should use a class that will minimize that. Any class that has full heirlooms is able to solo dungeons, but a Holy Paladin with heals and tank is going to be much more standard and non group dependent when compared to a Holy Priest.

If solo queing random dungeons is banned, that makes a lot of higher level runs unnecessarily long, and requires much more effort than need be. RNG is a factor for almost every game, it's just a matter of how you can overcome and deal with the changes.

I will not be adding rules that restrict game play beyond categorical limitations.

General rules and explanations: No pre-set groups. Solo queing random dungeons is fine, but questing or using a friend to move you around on their mount is not.

No guilds. Guild bonuses and guilds being able to instantly mail items to the player are unfair and provide unfair bonuses.

Timing will start after clicking "Enter World" for the first time. You may create a character before the run to pre-load the environment, but all runs must be done from a fresh character.

The mailbox is only allowed in all Heirloom catagories, non heirloom 1-60, 70, 80, 85, 90, 100, and 110 runs, Double Agent, Loremaster, and Double Agent Loremaster catagories as of the 3rd of December, 2015.

Bug exploitation is legal, as long as it is in the game and not an outside influence.

All experience potions and bonuses will be legal, provided you mail them to your character after you have entered the world for the first time, or are retrieving them on the character that will be using them (Auction house, dailies, etc.)

I am open to second opinions about the rules. However, I will not allow rules that will limit or restrict someones ability to run the game, or mandate that slower routes must be taken.

If you would like a category created under the main leader boards, please submit the run to the forums, as well as why you believe the run should count. New main categories will need at least two separate runs to be added. All runs with only single runs will be filed under the Level Leaderboards for the time being.

Mr. Head Metal Man Slug Master, I would like to tell you that anthology is the one true game, and if you deny me this right, I will personally report you to my dad, and my dad is really really really mean and not nice, so don't make me do it. I hope you understand me, and know not to mess with a man like myself. Thank you -@srl (PS I AM GAY) Fixed

Yes, all heirlooms means any and all heirlooms. Generally to keep it competitive, we haven't used rings, but there is not a rule against it. Plus, you can check the rules tab on the category you want to run, and it will show all the pre-established rules.

This is an on the fly route, and needs more testing, but here's a rouge outline of the best and most efficient quests and route:

Take Beating Them Back, and continue killing mobs until 2. Turn in quest. Take Lions for Lambs, kill until 3. Should be around 20 mobs dead at this point. Turn in quest. Take Etched Letter, turn in, pick up The Hunter's Path, complete and turn in, should ding 4. Leave for Goldshire. Pick up The Fargodeep Mine, Kobold Candles, and Gold Dust Exchange. Kill mobs at the mine until around 75% to level 5, or you aquire all quest items, whichever comes first. Turn in all quests. Pick up A Visit With Maybell, Collecting Kelp. ¤ Kill murlocs and collect kelp, turn in quest. Proceed to Maybell until you reach Stonefield Farm. Pick up Princess Must Die! and complete it immediately. Pick up Lost necklace, and complete the chain alongside the Maybell questline. Whenever you reach 7, head back to Goldshire and pick up the Westbrook Garrison quest. Turn Westbrook Garrison quest, and pick up Wanted! and Riverpaw Gnoll Bounty. If you get the Furlbrows deed, hold on to it until you come back for Hero's Call. Turn in Wanted!, pick up Hero's Call, and head to Westfall. Turn in both Furlbrow's deed and Hero's Call. Either kill mobs to the west, or pick up the quest offered by Horatio. This part still needs routing/testing.

¤and possibly Explore Jasperlode Mine, depending on route and farming speeds. Needs testing and routing.

And also on the timing note: It's the same reason a lot of speedruns start with load times, because it then makes a major difference between versions and system differences. A PS3 with a solid state drive with the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is going to be a lot faster than a ps2 reading off the original disk. The same is going to be held to wow runs for now.

You can make a youtube playlist also, just so long as it has all the parts. Even if it is on twitch (or not), you can submit as many pieces as you want. So for you, you can use Fraps or Screencap, or anything, as long as I can read /played, server time, and your wsplit.

Oregon, USAsadrunslive9 years ago

Yeah, you can get random buffs. And I mean load in as a human, for example, and just make sure the map is loaded by letting it play the intro, and walking about the spawn. Then, log out, delete that character, create a new one, and start timing for a run. And yes, timing from enter world is a must.

Oregon, USAsadrunslive9 years ago

@Rag: The best way would be to have your first vod show you entering the world with wsplit (or an alternative) showing your start time, along side another timer showing your total time. To verify, each video would need to show the server time of when you begin, and the server time when you end, alongside /played at the beginning and end of your session (as well as following the rules of iron man and the 1-100 no heirlooms rules).

@Ely: the reason I have it currently like this is because your character is spawned in as you hit the enter world button, and because of this, things can happen to your character (priest pulls, buffs gained, xp changes), so if you are like me, and have a history of bad load times, you can create a character, load in, delete, and then create your "official" file.

I'm too lazy to make them, but if you do a run of any of the following, make a post here with a vod (twitch, nico, youtube, vimeo), and I will update the leaderboard with your run.

The runs are (with their heirloom alternatives): 1-10 1-20 1-60 1-70 1-80 1-85 1-90 1-100 55-100 (the only category death knights are allowed in) All dungeons/raids (must be done at dungeons intended level, i.e. no level 100s running dead mines normal. Raids may be done in 10/25 or normal/heroic, whichever you so choose)
