it works.
thank you again, i really appreciate you helping me with these issues.
something i want to say though about the chinese version, i had to modify it a little bit by replacing the Map010.json file in \www\data with the one in the english version because during the nijika drumming scene in episode 2, the music file would fail to load and would crash the game.
I first tried copying over the \audio\bgm folder but for some reason replacing that specific file was what fixed the issue.
(edit: it seems like there are many other scenes that crash the game because of the audio not loading in, gonna see if i can find and fix these)
as far as i know, this has no effect on the gameplay itself, and the only change being that for that one specific area, the text would be in english instead of chinese. a bit weird but it works and i dont think it has any big effect in a run.
The game needed a bit of troubleshooting but i got it to work. Cheers, thank you bro!
I can now confirm to myself that yeah you really can just walk out of the room without talking to nijika. I wonder if there are other stuff like this throughout this version that can give it an advantage over the other categories.
I couldn't help but notice that in the Bad Ending world record, at the start of episode 2, the runner skipped having to talk to Nijika and went straight to the clock and out of the room. In my version of the game, which is the english translation, I am unable to walk out the room without talking to Nijika first.
Now i'm not familiar with the development of the game, but I think that the original Chinese version differs from the Japanese version, which the English translation is based off of. I am aware that the Japanese version added some additional pieces of dialogue, and so i'm wondering if it also patched out the ability to walk out of the room.
If anyone can explain this part to me please do. Also, the reason I am requesting a download link or even a zip download is because the files on the original links for the Chinese version appear to have been removed. As of now I have no way of obtaining the Chinese version of the game.
The game can make use of mouse input to move your character optimally to any position you want. As a result, the game changes from a test of good navigation around RNG NPCs to a test of accurate and optimal mouse aim on the position you want to go next.
Because of how different the approach to running a game can be with this change, and just how big of an advantage one playstyle has over the other, I suggest that runs using mouse input be moved to a different leaderboard than the runs played using the default controls.
