Hopefully there are more to be found. Some of these are more consistent than others but a few that are known of so far:
Ch 1 - near beginning to skip ch 1
Ch 2 - near pipes on truck part
Ch 2 - near crane on rooftops
Ch 3 - before balloon and truck
Ch 3 - coming out of the party barn
Ch 3 - before dropping underground
Ch 5 - before dropping down into factory
Ch 5 - after box conveyor belt
Ch 6 - on top of the log truck
Ch 6 - after the big rock rolls down the hill

download autosplitter program "AutoSplit_1.5.0.zip " found here and extract files (exe, ico, and pkl) to a new folder. There is more information about the program itself if you're interested in reading up on it.
-
download split comparison images found here and put this in the same folder as the autosplitter program you downloaded from step 1.
Folder should look like this at this point :
-
in whatever program you use with your capture card (I use OBS, personally), either project that capture or figure out the coordinates of the capture region (position and size) I use fullscreen or windowed projector (right click capture card source and near the bottom)
but you could also just right click the capture card source and go to 'transform' -> 'edit transform'
-
open AutoSplit program and do these things :
-
make sure your livesplit hotkeys match the autosplitter hotkeys
-
choose the Split Image Comparison folder by clicking 'browse' then selecting the folder downloaded from step 2
-
click 'custom thresholds' and then change the value for 'pause time after split' to 1.0
-
click 'select window' and then depending on how you set up your capture card from step 3, click in the windowed/fullscreen projection or input your X/Y/Width/Height from your 'edit transform' OBS screen to match and you should then see your game feed in the left 'capture region' box in the autosplitter
(note, you may have to adjust X/Y/Width/Height to make sure all gameplay is being captured properly for the autosplitter to compare against correctly)
-
go to 'file' -> 'save settings as' and save these settings to the same folder where everything is stored at. This way, when you open the autosplitter in the future, you can go to 'file' -> 'load settings' and bring in everything so you don't have to click through all of the boxes and manually set it up every time
-
-
open livesplit (double check your livesplit global hotkeys match the autosplitter global hotkeys) and then start livesplit before heading into the first level of the run. The timer will start but should pause at about a second or two until the first level loads
-
keep the autosplitter program and livesplit active, I don't think the program works well or at all if it's minimized or it's not actively engaged but you can always mess around to see what you can and can't do
That should be about it, I think. Hopefully if the capture region is set up properly, the split images will work in conjunction with livesplit to pause and unpause your timer throughout the run.
A test run :
Figured, why not? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=V4tUrwodmzg
Haha no worries! Thanks for the verification :) Always enjoyed the game and the speedrun was definitely a fun new way to play through it!
Hmm interesting. Thanks for the answer! Yeah, I could get it maybe like 30-40% from the other side of the scientist on console but still no dice with PC. What a bizarre game haha
Was curious what the setup was for PC. On Switch/PS4 it's pretty hit or miss in terms of timing and everything. Is it the same for PC where you just have to find that sweet spot or is there a more consistent way to get OoB past the laser scientist successfully?
I have yet to hit it on PC and can't, for the life of me, figure it out. Any help would be appreciated!
For anyone playing on console (at least PS4 & Switch), the OoB skips in Ch 9 work. The bridge skip in Ch 7 seems to be a no-go unfortunately. Also, load times between chapters on Switch seem even worse than PS4 which are pretty slow already.
Not related to the skips initially in question but just wanted to drop some custom trophy ideas. This game has been so fun to play (Zoink makes some really fun, whacky games) and if anyone has any ideas or any input at all in this matter, please share.
There's no setup for this skip, correct? The placement of the Mr Copy is always at a spot where you can get past it with the moving platform? Just asking because the Switch & PS4 versions have the Mr Copy down below the moving platform rendering the skip unusable but was hoping maybe there was more to it than meets the eye. Fingers crossed but looking like glitchless might be the way to go for consoles (kind of sad because that glitch looked so cool).
Are there any restrictions as far as streaming tech/setup goes? For instance, would it be allowed if someone can only stream through a console straight to Twitch and can’t use OBS or an RTMP or anything like that?
That makes sense and kind of what I thought might be the case. Plus the drop-in/out stuff only seems to save relatively marginal time overall compared to alternative strats over a full run. Really neat seeing all the tricks and skips that’ve been found by everyone! :) Thanks for adding the PS4 option, btw!
And I guess the drop in/drop out exploits don't count as "co-op" even if they require two controllers? They're so nice to have and be able to use though haha I guess technically you're still playing the whole game solo so it shouldn't matter?
All of the PC skips for the plain jane any% run seem to work for PS4. Haven't tried any of the two player drop in and drop out stuff with the elf or the NG+ strats yet. I still want to test the elf barrel skip in Bone Barracks but haven't tried to get the timing down yet. You seemed to find all of the good stuff already, Hoyt :) Thanks for making all of the videos for those skips, btw!! Haven't messed around too much with or found much luck with finding other places to use the chaos skip other, except in The Sea of Darkness for all levels any% goodness. Can get out of bounds in Dungeon of Discord but, like I'm sure you've found in other spots already, it isn't helpful as far as I can tell. I wish the Pathway 2 OOB "adventure" was more reliable (unless I'm just a dumb). Hopefully there's more to be found though.
Aiming, of course, is a little bit trickier on PS4 but it's not the end of the world. Still have yet to personally one-cycle either Khamun or the Beast but ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Could the console platform options be added? Looks like a really neat game!
Now the only question is how the hell to get it where you can start a new game with PS4? I can only seem to access a fresh new game only when I play as a "guest" or make a new user. I've deleted all save data, online save data, but to no avail. Total head scratcher on this one. Would love to use my actual main PS4 user but can't figure it out lol
Edit: OK so it looks like disconnecting from the internet and then starting a local game will allow you to start with a fresh file. You should be able to connect back and be good to go after that.
It's looking like most of the glitches seem to work in the PS4 version. Whew!
Could the console options be added? I’d like to run this awesome game!
There’s like 20 minutes of load screen but I don’t care. PS4 is all I have for now so a PC run will just have to wait.
