Not even sure how to change store layout but I think it should be separate for now. If everyone is informed of the optimal store layout for each mission it should be the default category

I decided to edit together all of my fastest races on each track and put them into one video. At least three of these tracks could easily have their golds improved but I still have to land them in a run at some point. Sub 23 IGT and sub 26 with loads can happen

I have painstakingly added a comprehensive IL board. I had to go through all the former lap records and resubmit them. If it wasn't for a huge spreadsheet of IGT analysis I had made not long ago I couldn't have done this. You may notice that a lot of time specific categories are now empty which means there are free world records for the taking! (until I decide to play to take them) This change to the boards means the old Misc. categories full of lap times are now redundant and can be deleted! We can finally have a clean src page! The dream truly has come true. I also took the liberty of documenting the entire progression for each 3lap record for all 3 runners who have submitted at least 2 runs of this game (except for some of Sammo's really old stuff cuz I can't be bothered atm). Really wish I had the equipment to record my first 3 runs of this game, such a huge part of history is lost without those videos :(

I've tried to implement an IL board in the past but it would never show up on the main page no matter what I tried. I really like the idea since the tracks are different and it'd be fun to compete in something a bit more casual. I'll take another look into it and maybe consult the src gods for help creating them

Neat, well I've already painstakingly gone and calculated IGT my past 3 runs and your two runs so I'll work on incorporating that later. This game isn't crazy optimized yet so I dont think that loads should entirely matter yet but we'll see. I might do some runs today if I'm up to it...

I was analyzing my last two PB's and Silo_Simon's two PB's comparing IGT for both runs to determine the amount of time lost or gained due to load times. (I'm excluding menu movement from consideration because it's basically free and time loss/gain is negligible) I found that my 28:58.35 from January had an IGT of 25:33.91 meaning 3:24.44 can be accounted for by loads. In Simon's most recent PB of 29:03.19, the IGT was 25:53.04 meaning 3:10.15 can be accounted for by loads. The IGT in Simon's run is 19.13 slower and the run is 4.84 slower meaning the loads were 14.29 seconds faster.

In my WR of 28:38.02 the IGT was 25:17.86, meaning loads were 3:20.16.

(should be noted that the 28:58 was played on my 1st gen Wii and the 28:38 was performed on a Wii Mini)

Not really sure what I'm trying to prove here but it might one day lead to the requirement to provide IGT along with RTA time. (similar to NSMBW)

I will test loading times on the Wii U at some point to see if loads are more consistent or faster on it.

I dont intend on being hypocritical but at the time of the run I had no way of recording it. I now have equipment that I can record my runs with and I plan to submit all future runs with video proof

So I looked closer in Peterdea's run and I came to the conclusion that the PS2 version runs at about 70% the speed that the Wii version runs at. This takes into account the load times and scaling differences. As far as course order goes, it's different between the two versions but each course is ultimately played the same number of times. With this conclusion, we can take Peterdea's time of 51:25.520 (technically 51:10 because he split super late) and multiply it by 0.7 to get a time of ~35:48.990 which would still put him at 3rd but would make the run comparable to the Wii runs.

ALSO: I now have the ability to record runs, which means my next pb will be submitted with video proof! (assuming I ever get a better time)

I just noticed that the PS2 and wii versions of the game are differently scaled, have different load times, and course layouts. This only substantially affects the all cups category though. Should there be a separate leaderboard for PS2 and wii times?

Ive noticed that there are major differences between the consoles and pc version of the game in regards to speed, scale, and such.

So I know it’s a bit confusing where to split for the all cups category. You can really do what you want if you submit video proof, but if you provide just splits then just split at the end of each race. I know the menuing can be tedious.

This has always been a dream of mine to have competition in this meme game. I’ve been playing this game for years as a meme and I’m happy to finally see it grow. I say we turn this into a real speed game, despite its meme status
