I've been looking at wanting to run Remnant for a while now, but the rng aspects of the maps kindda threw me off. I was wondering if there had been talks about a seeded new game category?
@ThePatient "My gripe is not so much with the time it takes to verify runs, but more so with the fact that despite there being hundreds of hours of a backlog in reviewing footage, mods are outright refusing any assistance in clearing that backlog"
Just because we refused 1 person, doesn't mean we refuse everyone. We've added more mods since the release of the game like Waldo and Claire. You came in immediatly and started attacking us both in the forums here and in the discord and wouldn't listen to any evidence i came up that disproved your theories, hence why we didn't think u would make a great fit for the moderation team.
"It makes sense that popular streamers and mods would receive verification ahead of the submission queue"
Again for like the 5th time now, this is not the case, it's because we've been in peoples streams when they got the run done. For example i've done the same for Peralt, Nyiddle, ZGL. None of which are mods nor big streamers, but dont care about that, do you?
"it doesn't seem that you have the community's best interests in mind"
We are litterally spending hours upon hours of our free time outside of full time jobs to verify runs, mod the discord and make sure people are getting the help they need, idk why you think this is at all the case. If we didn't have the comunities best interest in mind, we wouldn't be here. Im not getting a paycheck for this, ya' know?
"but isn't it evident that the current moderation team isn't large enough to handle the popularity of the game? And that just maybe a larger team is needed?"
Not at all, it's evident that the game is insanely popular tho, and this will die down in a couple of weeks once people who arent gonna run the game for a long period of time leave the game, it's very natural for a new popular game to have "long" queue times.
Lastly, the person who made this post didn't even complain about waiting, they were just wondering and took our answer very well. For some reason, you seem to be the only one who has a major issue, kindda weird.
iirc it was discovered that it had something to do with taking the elevator down again all the way and then all the way up again after revisiting the furnace room. It's not gonna be a timesave regardless.
@ThePatient There's been verified/rejected 36 runs the past 48 hours, feel like that's a decent chunk when u think about how long it takes to verify just 1 run. WR runs and mods runs are usually on stream, usually another mod is watching, so it's faster to get those runs out of the way since it's the same run they already watched live, hence it can be spotchecked to make sure it's not done some trickery with, this also helps clean out the queue of too many runs.
If you think we're not doing ours to get through the queue as fast as possible in our free time outside of our full time jobs, families and such. You are thoroughly mistaken.
@Eva0123 we require video proof of every run unfortunately.
ng means new game and ng+ means ng+
Perfect run for a person doesn’t have to be a WR, it can just be when they feel it’s good enough for them or when they hit a personal goal they’ve set in a category.
Also I wasn’t trying to be condescending, I was trying to say that you never lose something by improving on a run you enjoy running.
Technically yes, however using pause buffers mitigates this.
We've discussed this in earlier forum posts afaik, and there is definitely a possibility of Pistol only % becoming a thing in the Category Extension leaderboards. When will this happen? We don't know yet tbh.
Welcome to speedrunning, where you "lose" hundreds of hours for 1 perfect run.
Definition of Pay2Win is that you have a different software than someone else, hence u are faster. I'm not sure you've read everything ZGL has posted in here, otherwise you'd probably not be so keen on RTA. Seems like the only reason u want RTA is cus u cant get a deathless run, and that's all practice. Even on PC you don't wanna die, like idk how this is even becoming a big topic for you.
Practice the game and you'll get deathless runs, do safe strats if it's a harder difficulty and you're not going for WR attempts, it's doable.
@TheMrEnigma72 i mean you can litterally scroll up and read @zgl's post about how it's pay2win.
Idk if i died during a run i wouldnt be happy with it regardless.
I mean. If u had followed the rules, i wouldn't have rejected it. Also if u have a vod, just resubmit it.
Lots of runs have been rejected cus of them not starting it from main menu @RejectedGamerSam
@limarch welcome! If you join the discord and go to the Tools-development section, there are pinned messages with guides and everything. Alternatively u can download the FOV mod from the View Rules tab at the leaderboard. Most people run at 90 FOV
@LeonShredfield With the logic of seperating the consoles like that we'd have to split the PC runs by processors and maybe even GPU aswell then, it's just not feasable unfortunately.
I dont see us using RTA at all on console no, could be proven wrong in the future, but personally I dont see it becoming a thing.
We litterally asked the community and a ton of console players about what timing they would rather like, hence why ZGL made an entire post about it and relayed all the information to us, hence how we came to the ruling of IGT over RTA.
Wasn't EVER just a mod decision, can guarantee u that much
