I use ezcap for capturing http://www.ezcap.tv/usb-video-capture/ezcap116-capture-card I ordered mine from that page in 2012 or so. Before then, I had used older easycap. But your post sounds like you already have a capture card, so I'm a little confused...
If you want as good quality as possible, I'm not sure what's the best setup...
And as for japanese copy, you can find some on ebay usually for a reasonable price.
eh... not sure if I'm a fan.
I don't like the nav bar, it's too tall.
I have no idea how it works. It's different between JP and English - JP starts giving you only 1s and 2s fairly early, whereas you can keep getting 3s for a long time on English.
It's probably not a counter, just dependent on how much boost you already got for a given stat at a given level. You can get 4s (maybe even 5s and 6s?) if you never upgraded a stat until level 10ish.
On the front page and in notifications, it would be cool to see the players' previous PBs so that we can see how much they improved their time.
what is red helper?
If you make me a mod site-wide (temporarily), I would be willing to fix any broken twitch VODs I come across (see here https://twitter.com/_authorblues/status/736410054648205312 )
Basicly
Z ¤ (Brother's POW - Enemy DEF / 2)
where Z is a constant that depends on which attack is used. http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/GBx/MarioAndLuigiSuperstarSaga.html#AttackAlgorithm http://tasvideos.org/forum - you can ask jdaster64 via pm there There is also this formula he posted:
((BrotherPow ¤ BrotherPowMod ¤ 0.4) - (EnemyDef ¤ EnemyDefMod ¤ 0.2)) ¤ AttackMult
I have yet to implement damage prediction etc. to my luascript. Have not been feeling like working on it lately.
not necessarily.
TAS gives to stache early game to afford Pea badges, as far as I remember. And you would still sell a lot of stuff and get mush badges, although later in the game. So investing in stache some of the time is probably good.
But I don't know what the current run does and what the most up to date route is.
About despawning enemies, I don't know anything about that. Can you give me a video or a screenshot and show me where it happens? Does the enemy spawn and then despawn or does it not spawn at all?
When using spicy food in Level 3, you can hold down and right to keep going to the right while also preventing the landing animation (with the little star) to occur. I did that in my run but have not seen others do it. The TAS actually presses Down before each landing for 1 frame to prevent that animation from occuring.
I think this is something that shouldn't be overlooked. So I'm going to make a topic about this...
Apparently Fuzzyness is using a code in his adventure mode speedrun to make the triforce appear in the same place every time, thus making the run more execution-based (by removing a luck-based element).
What is stopping anyone from going ahead and calling it cheating? And is the run, when finished, going on the leaderboards, just like that? It is unfair to those who don't have an AR (as well as those that have it but are unwilling to use it).
The point of an RNG heavy speedrun is that you have to endure through all the attempts until the luck complies. (See Kirby's Dream Land.) But when using a cheat, you just bypass that and the point of that speedrun category is defeated.
Edit: I can see why the code is used. I'm just saying it, in some way, defeats the purpose of the speedrun category.
Trivia: Back in 2008ish when I was competing in 1P mode, people that ran event matches would strictly frown upon anyone who dared to use AR to make Peach always pull same item/pokeballs/etc. Not sure what it's like nowadays, but I'm under the impression it's still not allowed and I think keys didn't do it in his event 50.
In story mode, if "show minigame explanations" is enabled, does it show a screen for Frightmare at the end?
Cause I will leave it enabled in my TAS otherwise, since I'm going to never play a minigame. I just fear that it will have a disadvantage later.
can a mod make it so my 1:41:06 any% NMS is linked with my account?
My twitch vod has been resurrected. As a result, I submitted (and auto verified) it on the smurfs gb leaderboard. :)
btw it seems like Japanese version (that thechicken used in his run) is slightly faster on textboxes before fading into a map. Maybe you can get a free minute save by using it.
by giving the Koopa Kids more coins to start in each dream
wait what? can you give more details?
I have not seen such a difference between easy and hard difficulty.
I think Frightmare only goes up until Hard.
