Well, I guess now it probably doesn't matter anyway lol. Congrats on that insane run, probably not beatable given this game's nature! Haven't watched it yet but I'm assuming you got the shortcut on Reverse Mermech that I missed in my run, saves about 10 whole seconds at least. I had gotten it in my previous attempts but missed it in my final run as my splits showed, but because my previous runs weren't deathless my final one was still faster lol.

I've been wondering about this for a while too, but since all the previous runs had been on Switch (and basically no one was running this game lol) there wasn't really any reason to bring up the question. But now that we finally have a PC run (welcome, btw!!), I guess the question does need to be addressed since there is such a drastic difference in load times. Relying on IGT could be a good idea. There could also be separating runs based on the platform to account for all differences between versions like what I believe Mario 64 does with N64 vs. Wii VC, but given how small and unknown this game is with barely any runs such a move would be pretty silly and not ideal, especially if IGT is pretty much the same across versions (idk if it truly is but I reckon any difference would be pretty miniscule).

No one except me and KingJ0444 are currently running this game, but one thing I'm interested in speedrunning is possibly categories for the retro levels? I know there's already in-game leaderboards for individual levels (I myself have gotten first place on a couple of them) but nothing for the full game of retro levels. It might be cool to have categories here of the 3 Retro Worlds in a single run, both Any% where you just beat them and 100% where you also get all the Gildan coins. The challenge of course would be where to start this run, as you need to collect a VHS tape in each of the main worlds to unlock them in the first place; maybe the run should require a file with all the VHS tapes collected in advance?

So there's only 1.2.2, 1.3, and 1.4 categories for the 2018 version of Baldi's Basics. What about speedruns of pre-1.2.2 versions? Are there no appreciable differences between 1.2.2 and pre-1.2.2 versions (like the original GameJame version, v0.0.0 or whatever the heck it's called) and any speedrun of a pre-1.2.2 version works just fine as a 1.2.2 speedrun, or has no one done any pre-1.2 runs and so there's just no category for it?

Hmm...I have the Nintendo Switch version and it doesn't even have save files. It just has the one file and that's it, so to delete it I'd just delete my save data for the game from the Switch itself. I don't know what platform you're using so I'm not sure I can help.
