Also, as it turns out, Pixql was doing that sort of thing on other games, and to an even further extent.

@Crockey

If the moderator is doing things that are particularly unreasonable, and if you have support from other members of the game's community, then you can always contact a site moderator or admin.

I don't know exactly what's going on with Wubbzy, but that situation looks a little--

I was trying to think of a way to say "F¤¤¤ed up" without cursing, but never mind. Pixql is already banned, so I guess it was taken care of.

Ah, now I see (sorry, I'm typing as I think.) So the mod encouraged Pixql. Yeah, that's messed up. I think I would actually contact kirkq (site staff) about that, if I were in your situation. Especially considering that Pixql was banned for something that may even be unrelated, I think the fact that the moderator supported what happened in the Wubbzy thread should at least be mentioned to someone like kirkq. At the very least, you may be able to have those forum posts removed. At most, who knows. It all depends on how kirkq interprets the situation, but he has seemed very understanding in situations like that.

It's probably still fair to keep the Phase 10 category in the miscellaneous section. It's not the fault of the runners that new categories were created. You can even bar people from posting new runs in the category.

Note that @Lighnat0r says that you need to mod one of the games in order to make the request. I'm not sure if you do or don't, but if you don't, then you can raise your point to one of the moderators.

The Pixies and Nirvana are what come to mind for me. It's kind of the Pixies' trademark, and the popularization of that structure is usually accredited to them. A documentary about them is called 'LoudQUIETloud', if that serves as any indication.

I'm not necessarily suggesting those bands, as you probably already have an opinion on at least Nirvana, but hopefully that gives you an idea of the "roots" of that structure. I put "roots" in quotes, because they didn't invent it, but they are responsible for its proliferation, and they are the reason that it's so heavily associated with alt-type bands and music.

Thanks for not going point-by-point :D

Not to complain about all the great answers, but I was hoping that my questions would be more of a way to spark ideas for things to mention, not necessarily as literal questions :P

The most logical course of action would be to, first, think of the absolute worst thing you could do. Think of something really nasty and meaty that would get you banned for life and make everyone despise you. The average lifespan of a human is 71 years. You're likely between 15 and 30, so we'll say that you have around 51 years worth of HP left in your gauge. Now, divide your meaty and nasty act by 51. You'll end up with 51 relatively nasty acts that will get you banned for a year, each. Divide each of those dirty, rotten acts by 52, and you'll have 52 somewhat annoying and unsavory acts that will get you banned for a week, each. Use them sparingly, as using too many too fast will result in a compounded ban.

Science.

Be cool.

Why are duplicated boards and rules deviations seen as such a negative thing?

The NBA (National Basketball Association, in the US/Canada) and FIBA (international organization) both have certain rule differences, yet the US national team still plays in FIBA tournaments.

No one owns the right to play basketball, just as no one owns the right to play a video game.

There is a community of SRC runners who are being completely discounted.

I really can't wrap my head around this situation.

You thought dealing with people would be easy? ;)

But seriously, it doesn't help the situation when you're dealing with someone who starts calling people's thoughts and ideas "stupid", right out the gate. (I see everything ¤stalker emote¤)

In window capture properties, select "entire window".

Window capture isn't working for me with mGBA, though :/

I didn't realize that I've been using game capture, which doesn't seem to have the option.

"Last activity" might be a more precise wording, since the typical nomenclature is "active", "activity", "inactive", etc.

That said, I would hope that site mods/admins would be able to discern between inactive users and users who simply haven't had anything to do. For example, if a game moderator logs in on a regular basis, but they don't really do much on the site, but there is also no activity on the game that they moderate (nothing to verify, nothing to respond to, etc.), then they would technically read as being inactive. There is a difference between that user and another user who logs on and ignores forum posts and submissions for a game that they moderate, but both users' stats would look the same.

That's interesting. I thought users were supposed to receive a notification, if their request was denied. Maybe Sgitch missed the notification, or maybe admins can't exactly deny the game for one person when it was already accepted for someone else, so they have to delete it in a way that doesn't send a notification.

Also, I have been told that it is taken into account how likely a game is to be competitive. This was during a discussion about an EA baseball game, if that serves as any indication. I don't actually know the specifics of how games are accepted, or of "competitiveness" as a stipulation.

@LozBlind

I know :)

Please know that I am never here to outright dispute or argue. I purposefully try to generate discussion, rather than discord. That involves asking some direct questions that get construed as argumentative :P

I literally said that I agree with you, if that's the point you were makin, and I was asking if you could clarify your point.

I also wasn't saying that the user is active. I tried to make it clear that I understood that two months is no better than a year. I know that they are inactive, but I wanted to inform Hu3y where to find a more accurate stat for use in his proposal. Anyone that comes here and states a number that contradicts the last login is usually corrected, based on the last login.

Most of my assumptions are based on the fact that Hu3y's account is only a month old, but maybe he had a different account before.

Anyway, I don't like to chime in on this thread, because there are already enough statements flying around about people's requests. My intention was to inform Hu3y where to find "last login" information. He also made a comment that was very negative toward a person that he may not even know, and without providing any evidence. I don't care about the technicalities of this and that activity whatever, but trying to portray people as something that they may not be is not "sportsmanlike", for lack of a better term (I'm on the toilet at work. Gotta hurry!) It's not nice. It shouldn't have a place here.

@Hu3y

I wasn't trying to dispute your request. I only wanted to inform you where you could find accurate information. Unless you have been part of that game's community long enough, then you wouldn't know certain information beyond the users last login. Just because a leaderboard is inactive doesn't mean the moderator is inactive. It may simply mean that the game is "dead".

Again, I understand that the moderator is inactive, but it seems like you are making some unnecessary and possibly inaccurate claims to support your case.
