Something to note is that any type of variable between platforms of one game will vary differently when comparing a different game's platforms. One factor may be arbitrary in one game, but it could have a much greater effect in a different game. For example, the difference in the load times of one game might be negligible, but in another game it could be a difference of seconds for each loading period, possibly adding up to minutes. I guess that means my thought about your inquiry is that it depends on the game.
The search bar is fixed, so we're throwing an official search bar party, sponsored by every single one of your favorite game companies and none of the ones that you don't like :D
Remember to come dressed as your favorite detective (searching for clues), herald of Galactus (searching for planets), or metaphysical philosopher (searching for meaning)!
Who (or what) will you dress up as? Who will be your +1? Who should we take off the VIP list? What fabulous reality TV star should we pay top dollar to have in attendance? What will you search for first?
Your best bet might be to network and be social. I don't think there is anything like a list of teams that you can contact, and it probably helps heaps if you know and have a reputation with the people/person that you end up contacting.
I know some older SimCitys (SimCities? haha) were made with cheats to unlock things like unlimited money, which would make the game play faster. Also, if you set up the board, then you could have varying types of end-goals, like different amounts of money or citizens, etc.
I did a game boy run!
I timed it from pressing start to the moment the HUD disappears.
I'll go for 45 tomorrow :D
There's a game boy rom, as well. It's the same level but with many hardware-based differences.
Cool. It probably wasn't worth asking, but thanks anyway :D
Funny thing, the android version has checkpoints. That could mean that it is the same glitchless version as PC, but I haven't tried the glitch yet.
Is it possible to submit iOS/Android runs, as the board currently stands?
Also, is iOS/Android the full game? I read a random review that said something vague like, "This game is lacking in levels." I'm assuming it's just another goofy reviewer, but I've never played the game.
"To be able to use scroll wheel click to open runs in a new tab"
Or any other similar function, such as right-clicking and ctrl-click.
Board cleared, except for the ones that can be re-timed. I will re-time them later tonight.
@Fire1520 (not)
Shouldn't have been so strangely passive-aggressive in the first place, but thanks for letting us know (not)
Seriously, good to know (not)
Welcome :D
I just came across this one: http://www.speedrun.com/sssv_gbc It's long-ish, but it looks weird :P
@battleonfan1
Are you implying that your exposed ass is available for viewing? Please post the link :D
Is there a way to disable custom layouts in my browser?
The background sometimes distorts text on boards and profiles (white text on bright backgrounds, and dark text on dark backgrounds).
@g0goTBC also, send a whisper in addition to the message. Message notifications aren't a Twitch default.
masterpig5: DO you know how long you practice before putting up a run time.
EeveeSpirit: I don't get what you're saying.
I believe masterpig was implying that he practices a lot before posting a time. Some people practice a game until they think they can get whatever they consider a decent time, and they don't post a run until they can actually get that time. That's why cookie has, or had every IL record in Hotline Miami.
Other players like to start by posting their blind playthrough, like how Silent_Excalibr posted his first Drill Dozer run. Some of these people post blind, then never touch the game again, like a few Hotline and HM2 players :D
I fall somewhere in between "practice to perfection" and "post blind". I posted my first Hotline Miami run as soon as I could beat it in one sitting. Since then, I have changed my approach to focus on practice. I spent 13 hours on just the first level of Mighty Gunvolt. The only reason I have posted any times is because there is an IL board. Otherwise, 13hr x 5lv = 65hr+. That is many hours spread over many weeks, and Mighty Gunvolt is only a 10-15min game. Granted, I probably wouldn't have put in so much time without IL boards and without the goal of getting sub-whatever, but I have been practicing Drill Dozer for a few months without posting a time.
I don't wish to defend masterpig, because I don't know anything about this specific situation. I just wanted to clarify what they probably meant. I personally prefer to record my runs, and I will eventually move away from emulators.
Hooray for being bored on SRC :D
