I saw a steam forum say they only did 2 kills? Whatever the minimum is, I'm super interested in seeing an optimal speedrun of such a run. Would have to be careful around humans cuz they die so easily.
Yknow what? I'm curious what an ALL KILLS run would look like, too!
I saw 0% and it's cool, but it's not the usual Low% due to a technically. There's a few categories, we could include hearts as upgrades? I'm worried the route will only be to get all blue orbs to avoid any hearts. So I'm interested in low% # of blue orbs.
There's low% map completion? I guess that's just Any%.
How about min bosses?
How about for an unskippable action, how many is needed? There are too many jumps so not that. Least shoots? Eh... Isn't that just min bosses? Least teleports... Least X (generic action) presses... Least left/right presses...
Let me know if you got better ideas. haha
(also is there a discord for this game/speedrun?)
Have any been done? Often with hard mode speedruns that nobody have run, the usual response is that theyre annoying to do, so I understand if this is the case here too
Yo, there are so many runners! But I don't see where they all hang out and stuff
Hi, first of all, how would you define 100%? I'm going by getting all Steam Achievements, as I'm actually asking here under the ulterior motivation to get achievements quickly, haha...
I guess the biggest bottleneck is gear. Beat any% with Cirno first, but get enemy coins along the way, then get Reimu? Or Alice?
There's a badly translated guide that you wanna do quests to get gear, but also don't farm bosses, and to "combine" gear (is this reforge?) but never "exchange" them?? Yeah I think I get the gist, but combined with unlocking all characters too, I need to get quests that get otherwise impossible gold coins (youmu, marisa, sanae are ALL not bosses)... Hmm...
Anyway how tedious would this be? I guess something more medium length like unlocking all characters would be better.
So obviously you can just get all the 100pts and 1000pts from not dying, but after that, there's the overall timer itself. So approximately, what's the highest possible score in each of the 5 stages?
Also, this question was probably already asked somewhere but I couldn't find anywhere that did or answered this. No youtube videos of scores or anything. Is there any I can find?
I imagine this would be split between regular and DLC speedruns.
Even if you think this might not be a good category, I think it'll at least be fun to route.
The first problem is that the exp system isn't well understood. I searched online and found nothing. The grind may involve clearing the shortest Lv.11 (or an even shorter but lower Lv stage?), or perfecting it? Do trophies help? As for Daily Challenges, to make things fair, maybe you can disable internet connection for that? And is getting 20 illustrations random (probably the biggest question)?
You need to clear 10 Master stage and 20 Hard stages, mash 30 bosses, get 300 hearts (this surprisingly took a long time for me and so it might need to be considered in routing), and... everything else is just achievable during the Level Grind, for an expert player.
So what do you think? What would be the strat? What level would be optimal to grind? What is the EXP formula per song you clear? How many levels do you need? How much EXP did that need? And etc, etc...
Would that make for an interesting speedrun category? I'm interested!
How in heck is EVERY pb in the main leaderboards posted within the October of 2017? That's crazy. It's like all activity for full game runs died all at once.
I saw the WR not do this. It's pretty simple, right? Should be no problem saving time, especially on the last blue/pink part!
Sorry, didn't know where to ask. (is there even a non-speedrun discord?)
Please add them. Itd make for an interesting run.
The difference between the above 2 runs is that 100% doesnt need to get Snowplow and 110 Off. So maybe we should have one of those 2 speedrun categories? Your choice.
That'd be a 89.5% speedrun. Anyway, I was casual speedrunning 1-50 while watching SGDQ when I had a thought if I could speedrun the steam achievements. I looked and there's an obvious divide between which achievements are worth speedrunning and what not to. The 2 achievements are, of course, Step On 5k Bombs, and Mark 50k Bombs.
A lot of achievements are gotten automatically, but you'd have to keep track of hearts and do a few side things. Would this be too minimal difference from 1-50?
What do we do in this case? That WR was 1 year ago too. His remaining Twitch VODs has one run that is slower than the current 2nd place. I couldn't find anything on youtube.
Is the 2nd place run gonna be the 1st place one? I really really wish I got to see the 1st place run...
sorry! last link was temporary and im dum and it expired. get this one!

The Old Deleted Post: Making this server just in case people prefer talking in discord. But there's no messages right now since I just made this. I don't expect a lot of people to join soon, but better to make one than not.
It'd be good to collect videos for the hall speedrun courses in Lakewood town. We should have Level Leaderboards for these speedrun courses
Also, how would All Steam Achievements be different from pendant category? You'll need to do the konami code, grab 'n' go the tutorial, do all speedrun levels, and grab all hearts and books. Dunno if there's any other extra things to do.
I think we can cut down on a ton of this. Like, before I opened this page I was expecting only any% and 100%, where both allow cheats but you start from a fresh save file. I suppose nothing can be done about how there's a free and expansion version. Multiplayer... I dunno.
Sorry, it was a lot to go through. A lot of these categories, people don't run, so there must be some way we can prune these, right...?
The twitch link is broken. It has 2 slashes for some reason somehow, and has //v/ instead of /video/. PlsFixThnkU
I know there were a bunch of 100% runs that went on for dozens of hours and those were by far the most interesting categories for me. But they don't seem to be posted here?
At the very least, does anyone know where I can find them again? Really Really Long-a-thon did make me want to watch parts of it again.
I mean, if anything, you'd think thay may become the "main" category if more people ran this game. it seems more apt for speedrunning to not include the boss.
