I have been waiting to comment on this topic until I was sure about my stance on it. I was being cautious as I benefit directly by seperating the boards and didn't want that to be construed as the sole purpose for my argument. It is my opinion that the versions are too different to be compared fairly. It is not the route that concerns me but the mechanics. The code simply handles the same situations differently. Some of these differences are beneficial (jumping the river in Garloz, clipping through certain barriers) and others are detrimental (1200 tone cap!) But whether or not there are advantages or disadvantages is irrelevant. The game is simply different and not fairly comparable. Also I was not personally aware of the way filtering works on SRC as I have never had a reason to use it until it was brought up in this conversation. However once using it I noticed the Arcade version is also included and that is a completely different game.

I have also have a setup in which I switch the grip during a jump and just hold down after running off the ledge but the video was just an early proof of concept.

I don't know if you have ever seen this but it is my grip and technique for the screen wrap on controller. I came up with this based on the Slackanater's discoveries. Not used in runs yet because if how precise it must be performed on an already very precise and reset heavy run. It basically uses the same principles but because the release and re-engagement of the buttons is the most important part I tap the controller away from my fingers instead of tapping the buttons.

And I believe it was removed because there are many spots where you can skip sections as well as accessing out of bounds areas but there are a lot more obvious ways to do that so I think a better question would be "why is that all they changed?"

I guess looking back at it the idea that bat bouncing can be almost unavoidable at times in PRG0 maybe it would have to be considered fair play.

It is an exploit and therefore I would say it's a bug. If it was deemed to much of an exploit that it needed to be patched out (a rare occurrence for the time) then I would say it is a glitch.

It has a fast startup and good speed. I think with practice it should be quite reliable as well. Here is a video. Check the description for an explaination.
