Actually a great idea. I'd love to see multiplayer support for this speedrun, as team chunk error does this all the time for charity.
If you'd like to go onto the route of emulation, I would recommend Nestopia for real runs and FCEUX for practice. FCEUX is mainly used for save stating, so you can attempts levels over and over again. Nestopia doesn't allow TAS' to be created/played on it, which is why a majority of people trust that platform. For run advice, this video is one of the most helpful tools I use for this game. If you ever struggle with a level, check his tutorial out. He'll almost always have advice for whatever is haunting you. Good luck in your runs! :)
Thanks. Glad to hear it wasn't the way I was shooting into the room or a trigger I missed.
Kosmic has some good tutorials on how to get a sub 5 speedrun. He goes through every strategy and gives ideas of how to sometimes "play it safe." I suggest watching this
I was going for my first Inbounds No SLA run, when in chamber 19, I ran into a soft lock that I have no clue how it happened. All I wanna know is what caused it/how to prevent it from happening again. I've also never seen anything like this happen before.
Good points. Still curious to see if any improvement would be possible by a human and implemented in a run.
I wonder if a new category extension that allows Left and Right to be pressed at the same time (probably by using an emulator or modded controller), if we would be able to take advantage of it in an RTA speedrun and beat the current Any% record. I know it is against the rules, but I'm a little curious to see what would happen if it were legal.
