Hey, It seems the WR run is no longer available due to Twitch taking it down. Is there a policy for this? I would love to see it but I can’t. Will it remain or be removed from the LBs?
Hello all,
It has recently come to our attention that after one of the game's post-launch patches, obtaining Silent Assassin while remaining in the suit in the final segment, R&D, is no longer possible. Because of recent community interest with running this level SA/SO, a rule change has been made for this specific segment.
Runs that aim for Max Ratings with SO are now allowed, even if the patient in the chair spots you. The rating screen must be visible at the end of the run to validate that the patient is the only person you were spotted by. If the number of times you were spotted is more than 1, the run will be rejected.
If a way is discovered to get past this patient on the Purist or Expert difficulties, this rule will be removed, and all runs that were allowed under this rule will be rejected.
TL;DR:
- In Death Factory - R&D, you are now allowed to be spotted by the patient in the chair with a very large view-cone. This also applies to full game runs.
- If a way is discovered to get past this patient unspotted, this rule will be lifted, and all runs done under it will be rejected.
If you have any questions, please let me know by responding here, or by asking in the Absolution channel of the Hitman Runs Discord.
Why is this worth speedrunning? How would the moderators keep track of how many kills are done/how many are left, so they can ensure everyone is dead? This just doesn't seem like a viable category for speedrunning.
No, the moderation team has made it clear that unless the sins are side missions instead of escalations, they will not be on these leaderboards.
"since something could be added to the location"
That's actually not how that works. If something were added to the game, it would have to be client-side. You don't see us serving gigabytes of dynamic resources, we clearly couldn't overwrite a map easily, even if we want to. You would notice.
