the second idea you described doesn't seem to be very interesting either

i can understand the 2nd point, but i think 1000 candies would be a little more interesting since there would be more routing involved

1000 candies - get 1000 candies, they dont have to be unique, timing is same as all unique candies all shop item - self explanatory, get all hats in shop, time ends on last purchase i understand if you dont like lol

it would be miles better if you had to enter EVERY sub area or also get the ice creams in them, but as you said, its hard to judge what a sub area truly is
