there's the possibility that the game is speeding up because you are playing in fullscreen. if you use a monitor which is beyond 60hz, the game will sometimes speed up. you can either try setting your monitor to 60, or playing in windowed mode. if the window is too small, you can try using a program like dxwnd to resize it. hope it helps!
