I might come along to this, but it depends on if I get a job by then. How big a commitment is sending you my name?
What are the differences between the three versions (in terms of speedruns, obviously)? I'm thinking of picking up the game, and I'm interested why, for example, nobody runs on PC. Are some glitches harder/impossible on some systems?
I might not be able to make tomorrow's race. I'll be on Skype if I'm home though.
I think we're going for the same time today. I ought to figure out a better time for normally, but I forgot this week OneHand
Sorry if I sound patronising in this post - just trying to cover all bases!
You need to make sure you're using Lucas' Mod Launcher (also available on the site). If THAT doesn't work launching the game normally, it might be worth trying to find an EXE online, and swapping that in with your one (I had to do that, though it sounds like they've fixed it since).
Then throw the whole Donut Mod folder in 'Mods' (inside the Mod Launcher folder), and it should show up on the list with the launcher. Works for me, anyway. Let me know if you still can't get it to work
I think we're going with 10pm GMT. My skype is pessimisticmango - add me at some point and I'll do a call a little before we start.
Ok, I can't do Saturday this week. Let's go with Sunday, unless enough people can't. And Glitched, you can join in the race without streaming, that's not a problem!
They get a ton of submissions. They can only accept so many, and I guess they decided this wouldn't be popular/interesting enough. We'll keep applying and hope for the best, I suppose.
Ok, I agree with last input, I guess. So, on the last gag/collectible/wasp/whatever, or on the last 'Mission Complete' (which is close enough to last input, and much easier to time). We'll go with that then.
Ok, I've added the ILs in (you can select each level under 'Level Leaderboards' on the left hand side). Glitched, I haven't added your runs - you're free to submit them, but it may be worth waiting until we've ironed out the rules. A couple of things came up while drafting the rules, which ought to be decided on here:
Where do we stop timing? For 100%, I matched the full game run with 'once you have reached 100% according to the level progress statistics in the game'. For All Missions, I opted for the 'Mission Complete' text. The alternative would be the 'Level Complete' screen (which shows your percentage), but this appears after cutscenes on levels 2,5 & 6.
Also, the level progress, unlike the full game tracker, does not count movies. In which case, are we assuming we don't need to watch cutscenes? So, in level 2, the timer could end at the end of Cell Outs, rather than after the cutscene.
What do you guys think?
I'll get this set up later if nobody objects. Those rules look completely sensible to me. Might do some runs of this, but not until after my exams.
Only problem with Sunday night is that it would be Monday morning in Aussie land. But I guess see what other people go for
Would people be up for this, do you think? I would.
I figure we'd default to All Missions until we get bored. And to get console runners in, we could do some kind of handicap system (based on PBs or previous races or something?). I don't know.
I guess time-wise, we should go for a weekend. I propose Saturdays, around 10pm UTC? If you're interested, give some indication of what times would work, anyway.
Why didn't I see this posted before I started FailFish
Ok, I suggest we aim to start at 10.45pm GMT, Monday night. If that's too late for you Zoton, we'll move earlier (though bear in mind only the first two levels of the mod are done, so we'll presumably be fairly quick).
Saiyanz, the mod just changes up a bunch of things. The missions will be somewhat different, they've altered textures, moved cards and wasps (and maybe boxes), and probably fiddled with car stats and things.
So I can't do Sunday night. I'm good Monday or Tuesday nights though. In general I can't stream until about 10.45 GMT ish, but I'm happy to start earlier and just local record (or start a bit later or whatever)
PieTurtle, head here: http://beta.donutteam.com/downloads You'll need to download Lucas' Mod Launcher (as well as donut mod itself, which will turn up on that page, presumably). You might need to make an account on the site too.
Only thing to note: There are two versions of the Hit & Run exe, and the mod launcher only works with one of them. It didn't work with mine, so I had to download another one (just the .exe) to replace it. I'm not sure why this is, but I've not had any trouble with it once I got it set up.
So Donut Mod is apparently coming out this Saturday. It'd probably make an interesting blind race. Anyone want to do this sometime over the weekend or early next week?
Inside your H&R folder, go to art/frontend/dynaload/images/msnicons. There are PNGs of everything inside there.
