Just a genuinely curious question! I notice that for a lot of PSX games, PS2 consoles are used for faster loading speeds. Is there any sort of emulator that matches or simulates the way that PS2s handle PSX games?

The reason I'm asking is because I've done some load comparison videos for a game that I'm running, and I've noticed that PS1 Emulators load significantly faster than PS1 hardware, but slower than PS2 hardware. Ideally, I'd love to have everyone on a level playing field so that the boards don't get fragmented. But I'm not quite sure how to go about this.

I'm currently using Duckstation, and even with my disc speeds maxed, there's still a significant gap in loading times to PS2 hardware. I've also tried running the game on PCSX2, but that emulator has very limited PSX support, and unfortunately, this game isn't supported by the emulator.

Is there anything that can be done as far as different emulators or different settings?
