i think that's cause timer starts on first input. If that's the case, then it's okay.

livesplit of course is useless for verification,but it helps to common users(4 example me) to know when run started and ended. Without timer some runs looks pretty confusing to me.

I think you can't do this, cause description says ''travel at least 1 km from where you started''. So if you leave the minecart, you will restart ''the starting position'' and you will have to drive 500 blocks again
