Can you make it so we have specific !wrmessage for the game? Like a parameter for it, for custom messages. (something like !wrmessage <game> <message>, or if you want it to apply to all !wrmessage all <message>)

We've already addressed how the idea, as it stands, is not a good idea for the site. The OP hasn't responded yet, so I see no reason for people to continuously pile on their two cents. I'm not saying that only 2 or 3 people's opinions are allowed, but if your opinion is the same as everyone's before it you should realise that maybe people get the idea. If your opinion is conflicting or brings new information to the table, of course, go ahead and make your case. Otherwise you're just being redundant. I'm speaking more generally about the site too, not just about this specific thread.

And however you're posting your point as, you are still a full mod and people are going to hold your opinions much higher than the average speedrunner. No matter the intent.

Edit: post was made before your edit. to clarify. People weren't explicitly calling him an idiot, but it was heavily implied. "Terrible idea." "Absurd." "That makes no goddamn sense." "Silly." as if to say the flaws of the idea were obvious from the start.

The site uses a combination of BBCode and markdown if I recall correctly. Should be plenty of guides available for this sort of stuff if you need anything else (or clarification),

Guys. This might be a stupid idea. I agree. But one thing I don't like about this site is the community's tendency to bandwagon and repeat the same point 10 times over. I'm sure he got the point after the first couple people said something (especially after a full mod chimed in, discussion seemed over at that point). On the surface, the idea seemed nice enough, but because he neglected to look further into the idea and consider all possible outcomes, he overlooked some details that would be less than desirable, sure - but thats no reason to burn him at the stake? Why do 7 people feel the need to tell this guy he's an idiot and that his ideas are 'absurd' for suggesting an idea and attempting to help better the site? It's redundant after the first few people have made their point.

Keep a track record like this up, and soon no-one will want to say anything for fear of being shunned. It sets a bad precedent for the rest of the site. Its almost like you guys don't want to facilitate discussion.

And I get the sentiment, but I just laugh at the irony of making a point like "Speedrunning isn't about leaderboards in the first place." on the biggest speedrunning leaderboard site. Fun times.

Agreed that @Dracaarys is one of the worst mods i've seen. In the short conversations I've had with saturn he's seemed decent but that's just my two cents.

ive seen boards like banana kong ( https://www.speedrun.com/Banana_Kong ) where its literally 5 rows of pretty much the same category with slightly different values changed. first of all, why have so many of these categories, secondly, does he not know that subcategories exist? im sure it'd be much more tolerable if he actually made use of the leaderboard's features. besides, still have no idea how he managed to delete all the runs since all he did was like the post without explaining anything.

but im sure there are worse mods out there, its just that these particular practices tee me off somewhat. its not like im forced to see these boards anyways. its just some quality control would be nice for this sort of thing.

Ohhh, that makes sense. Yeah, that'd actually be pretty nice. Would use that on the cuphead boards for versions. One question though, how would it work for multiple layers of subcategories?

@HowDenKing Forgive me if I'm wrong, but if you're referring to the Sonic Mania Plus moderators, he is one of the mods for it. I'm not entirely sure what he's asking.

You connect social media so that you are easier to reach in the case that you go offline / inactive or anyone has any inquiries that need to be directed your way. Just as a contact method

Fine. I would continue to argue but it seems that both sides are too stubborn to concede (and ive been on edge lately so it might be me). Let me state it more clearly if you guys aren't able to extract it from my posts.

Can you recognise what people are saying in here? Most of it gets drowned and forgotten regardless of the quality of the idea. I'm not asking for them to be added, just acknowledged (regardless of the wording in previous posts).

This is semantics, but "If you really want to see new features, stop asking." ? Isn't that kind of the pointing of asking.

"Feedback" thread, does this not include complaining? Excuse me if I'm seeing things wrong here, but apparently I'm not allowed to criticize anyone or anything this site does without immediately getting bombarded with posts saying that I'm dumb for speaking down upon these wizards that have created the site. Now, it's a great site and all that jazz but I see tons of posts in here with absolutely wonderful ideas yet none of them seem to get recognised or acknowledged, which is disappointing to say the least.

@vercadia Jeez, you're taking what I said wrong here. Main point was that none(or most) of it was getting acknowledged in the first place. Maybe there's some sort of list he has with all these ideas, in which case fuck I didn't know that my bad

@Timmiluvs It's not like I think I could do a better job. There are plenty of people that can do plenty of things way better than me, but I'm still allowed to give critique and constructively criticize what they do. Maybe my original came off too harsh, in which case sorry about that but otherwise this feels like an over-reaction.

Also, not to step over eggshells again, but this site doesn't really have a sustainable model when it comes to this stuff if it relies entirely on volunteers, does he not get compensation at all for what he does? /shrug inb4 "how about you run a large speedrun leaderboard site with over a hundred thousand members, i think they know what they're doing"

It's sad that @EmeraldAly has to include "I hope this has the appropriate tone. It's like you see someone has one thing wrong and suddenly 4 or 5 people go "shut the fuck up dumbass lol". (fwiw i agree with emeraldaly but it doesn't really bother me)
