Check out the airport pickup thread i just made Geurge, You could probably hitch a ride with me when i go to pick up Naegleria.

I will be picking up Naegleria from the airport around 18:00 local time on the 18th and Naxhpl on the same day i think around 20:00 both from Chicago O'hare. If anyone else is landing around the same time as them please let me know and i may be able to take you as well.

I am driving a 2010 nissan cube so I can comfortably fit 3 people that aren't me with luggage.

Anyone else who is driving in and would be willing to help people out with airport runs should post in this thread as well.

If anyone arriving on the 18th is interested in helping myself and Naegleria get the stream room setup this is the place to let us know. Setup will range from running cables and testing equipment to arranging tables and chairs and possibly even carrying a couch from the goodwill right up the street.

Once I have an idea of who is willing to help out I will let everyone know roughly what time we will begin setup and who to talk to about what tasks need to be done.

To clarify the labeling process for the equipment i will be assigning each person providing equipment for the use of the marathon with a letter and number such as (C9) i will have a document on my kindle with info on who is associated with each number and what equipment they are providing. This should not only help us prevent anything shady from happening but also help us keep an inventory of what we have and avoid mixing up various peoples stuff.

If anyone has any input on this please let me know.

P.S. the numbers i am assigning will be what i use to label all equipment in unobtrusive places, this will minimize any residue left by the tape.

Hey everyone, we are going to need all of the runners to hop in here and give us a list of what you need to do your run so we can make sure no runs end up with missing consoles etc. I will start us out with an example of what i am looking for.

Run: Berenstain Bears Camping Adventure

Required equipment: game cart, Sega Genesis, Genesis controller, CRT TV

Equipment I will bring: game cart, CRT TV

Dates i will be attending: May 18th-23rd

Can the marathon use my equipment for other runs: Yes

If we can get everyone to break their runs down like this it will allow us to identify who will be bringing consoles and if we will be missing anything we need which will go a long way in helping those of us planning the marathon and doing set up on the 18th.

For anyone who chooses to allow us to use their consoles and other equipment for the marathon, I will be bringing masking tape and sharpies to label each item with and will be keeping a spreadsheet to track all gear coming in and out of the stream room.

Thanks, Darkfox36

P.S. All PC runners should check out the thread by Lurk as well as this thread. you can find it here http://www.speedrun.com/nasa/thread/5j3vr

I can help out with whatever you need, would probably just need a basic overview of how you want things set up and such.

Does anyone have a monitor they can bring for the stream pc? I use my tv as a monitor so i dont really have anything small enough to bring.

i will be bringing a bunch of commander decks as long as you are cool with proxied decks. my playgroup doesnt bother with real decks for commander.

Yeah pretty sure sleeping in the stream room is a bad idea.

I would think that word of mouth is our biggest way to get people to watch, like getting runners in your games community to tell their viewers about the marathon. This will be more of a thing closer to the marathon itself since people can tell viewers when the run of certain games will be. Also twitter is our friend retweeting tweets about the marathon as well as tweeting as individuals will help. Once we have a schedule we can also make reddit posts etc to raise awarness.

Also if maybe we could get naegleria and some other people on tssb and similar things that could help alot.

I could do:

Dark Souls 2 any% 0:30:00 (assuming i don't die which for that run isn't likely)

Berenstain Bears: Camping Adventure - genesis 0:6:00 if i get the glitch otherwise like 8ish minutes

Yep, go ahead and add me on skype and we can go over details. I also might be able to help with your airport situation depending on when you land.

Skype username is the same as here.

that would be a bit odd, I would assume the easiest way to run skype would be on the stream rig which will already have the game footage.

pvtcb is actually in my room along with naxhpl and cyberdemon.

Actually if it were over Skype and we had good enough bandwidth we could screen share the Game from my computer to the commentator so there would be nearly no delay. I do it on stream all the time.

I have a suite reserved and I'm looking for one more roommate for the 18th-23rd. It would be around 155 per person. The suite has 2 beds and a couch and when I reserved on hotels.Com earlier this week it said I could have 5 people the way I figure it 2 people to a bed (one being taken by myself and the dark souls 1 runner) and the other person gets the couch to themselves or can bring an air mattress.

My only real rules are keep the room decent, and don't do anything to get us kicked out. Because it is a suite we should have plenty of room for playing games and hanging out.

So I suppose just let me know if you are interested and we can hook up on Skype to go over stuff.

As far as the stream computer goes I just ordered new processors and grabbed a USB sound card since my headset is USB and the actual motherboard has no on board sound card.

The specs including the new hardware are as follows: CPU- 2 Xeon quad core processors running @ 3.16ghz RAM- 20gb HDD- I'm running a bunch of small sas drives in raid 5 so I end up with 341gb however I am planning on getting a 1tb storage drive before the event (alternatively if @Naegleria wants to get a larger HDD then that and record the marathon to it and just take it home that might be a good idea) GPU- R9 270X (will need to get a single slot card for the event due to space limitations on the motherboard with the capture cards we will be using installed) Power supply- should be a non issue this series of hp proliant servers have standard 800w power supply's.

The only other thing i can think of to mention is that the PC only has 4 built in usb2.0. This shouldn't be a major issue since I have a 4 port hub plugged in to the front I will be bringing with me. I will also be bringing 3 USB extension cables with me in case we need them.

If anyone has any questions or sees any issues related to the stream rig please respond and let me know.

I will also potentially be bringing what I think is a 32inch Samsung CRT in pretty great condition we can use for runners on older consoles. If anyone wants I can check the exact size and model of the tv, just let me know.

I'll be driving from baltimore with cyberdemon, planning on arriving on the 18th. If any other locals want to carpool let me know. Once i get to the hotel i'm willing to make airport runs for people if needed, just throw me a couple bucks for gas.

I would vote for the daytime streams over 24 hour days because it would mean we would have more down time to hang out and go do things outside of the hotel without having to worry about missing runs. I also think it might make managing the stream a bit easier since you dont have to have 24 hour tech. Besides then we would get an extra few days of fun.
