Scoub and Lafungo use subsplits. You can set these up by choosing "Edit Layout..." I'm pretty much a simpleton when it comes to this program and don't really care to ever set up subsplits, so an online tutorial is probably the best way to go about that. As for the pictures by each of their splits, you can put any picture you want in there, you just gotta find it on the internet. To do so, just select "Edit Splits..." and in the column marked 'icon' just double click on the box next to each split you have set up and select your picture.
the SMK TT site and 150cc GP site have separate PAL charts, so PAL players do indeed have a chance to compete. Most of the top players on PAL have a NTSC system as well. This site doesn't need separate charts because all cups runs are kind of a niche category.
The only big difference in time between courses is on PAL vs NTSC. NTSC is faster both in gameplay and between courses, and since you're in Canada it is highly likely that you are on NTSC. I'm not 100% sure about all the ports that have been done (VC, SNES Mini) but since they are all NTSC they should be the same.
It is my opinion that for speedruns you should be using the fastest possible setup. For example, all the top players of Zelda: Link to the Past use the J v1.0 cartridge for the faster text and cart-exclusive glitches. Just the same, serious SMK all cups runners should just go with NTSC.
RTA is far easier and should be pretty consistent player to player. There's no variance in SMK as in Punch Out with those "fake stand ups" from the CPU. If you'd like to add up the cumulative times for each course, have at it and make a note of it, but it's not necessary, imo.
Individual course times, as has been repeated in several forum posts, already have dedicated sites with thousands of players. There's the Time Trial site: mariokartplayers.com/smk and the 150cc site: smkgp150cc.com if you'd like to compete in individual levels on a much more in depth basis.
I'd be up for it. However, any run with either Drizzt or Artemis along side an original character would be put in the unlockable category.
DONE!! lol
If you want IL boards for SBB, have at it
Hey Chuck,
the current DA discord invite is https://discord.gg/4AEsW6 you can discuss more there as it is slightly more active.
The reason i haven't added what you are suggesting is mostly because of the lack of activity for this game. I wouldn't mind adding the category, honestly. The only hangup I have about a level 40 character on extreme mode would be the relative similarity of it versus the current extreme mode setup. A level 40 Vhaidra could blitz through everything without having to worry about weapon drops. A 40 Dorn could do the same and buy an Imperial Morning Star or two in Act I and not do much else. A 40 Ysuran could do the same with his killer spells, but would it ultimately be faster than those two?
With so many characters and several different ways to play through the game, there are dozens of possible categories I could post here, both individual and co-op. Part of my hangup on having that many categories is that I'm a Zelda 2 runner and that game has about 20 different categories, all with different rules, which I find somewhat annoying. This game would be easier to manage, but with the activity level being just me (lol) and one other person that has mentioned a run on discord but not submitted, I just haven't had the need to add more categories
If only we had more mods... say, about 12 more or so, this might get accomplished.
This issue keeps popping up, and I gotta say it's hilarious to me. The TT players' page has right around 1000 people, with 15-20 active each week and a single person runs it and updates it. This page's activity and number of players is minuscule in comparison. I completely agree with Goomba, no extra mods needed. Besides, to the folks that are seemingly so desperate to become mod here, do you think the role would actually just land in your lap without anyone really knowing who you are? If there were ever to be new mods it would go to trusted members of the long-established community such as KVD or Scoub or JoeReinreb. TBH lafungo should just delete these posts, they are ridiculous.
Just read your description of your Mush Cup wr, Moll. Fitting.
"The funny thing is that dan__h should actually have this 'wr' since his mushroom cup in the 1P all cups run he submitted is faster"
Lol, Moll, I'm not even good at this game. I'm sure my 1p All Cups run will be crushed by the time, say SNES Superstars rolls around.
And is Speed Demos Archive really considered any sort of wr site? They're all about video quality over exceptional speedruns, from what I hear.
The Mega Man series has its own speedrunning wr site, so it's not that unusual to have a game have its own domain when people have been competing at it far longer than speedrun dot com has been in existence.
For any passers-by who happen to click on this, it is.
Post here and I'll give you whatever the current invite is to DA1 discord.
BGDA2 discord is pretty much non-existent, but post here and I'll give you a link to the DA1 discord
cool! if you're on twitch I'll be on the lookout for you. Also, better discord server: https://discord.gg/TGKAMM
word. I may or may not submit 5 games... I swear only 3 of them will be boring. Kappa
For strats, routing, general discussion, whatever.
