Thanks for updating the console section. In my runs I used whatever the latest bizhawk is. I was planning on using a PSOne but the video went out on it, so future runs will be on a PS2.
you still need the proof of winning. that's why the timer was made to stop when the winner screen appears. whether you think winning is a given or not it still needs to be there.
Meme-tastic! Autosplitter used to mirror the rules for submissions: https://github.com/BloodSweatAndCode/NES-hacking/blob/master/Pirates/pirates.asl
This is another argument here. Anything you can not do with the original hardware and the original cart is banned. you can't do save states on the NES original hardware with a copy of Punch Out.
No the point of a speedrun is you have to beat the game. This should be rejected. My apologies
i changed the timing of "win championship" category to match that of "win a game" updated the one time posted as well.
i only have the old school PS1, so no quick load speed for me.
also my copy off ebay came in the mail today so i might fire it back up soon
hey do you want to add categories for individual levels as well? post your best time for each track?
me at 4am: my single segment time is garbage. let's work on it. sees baldnate submitted a time verifies the time laughs his head off because drinking mayo is the meme of the year
Also.... maybe add someone else as a mod as well. Someone active. That way it doesnt look like you are just rejecting runs and making rules in order to keep your WR.
Why do you need to frame count anyway? The runs are measured in whole seconds not milliseconds. The difference between a 26:00.001 and 26:00.999 means nothing. Also since you re-changed a bunch of rules you need to reevaluate the rejected runs to see if they are now legit or not.
Any run in any game needs to follow the rules given.
Just because rules were put in place on a certain date it doesn't mean runs done before it are exempt.
Also if a community of players thinks rules are bad. The community as a whole should discuss it. Not just one mod.
I would say a good start time would be at the first frame you see the field. Right after the coin toss.
The coin toss varying is meh honestly imo.
What do you guys think about changing the timing slightly? instead of ending the time at the newscaster, what if we make it when the game says FINAL. i think the extra bit is kind of a waste.
hey. that's what's what build to win is all about!
