Waza is correct. Sadly I don't have a copy of the game pre-Zen Edition. My steam copy got updated when Zen came out. Which is a shame because I used to run Free Roam Any % years ago and there used to be a way to skip World 3 entirely that Zen patched out (along with the lack of donut detection bug).

My only success at doing a donut after running into the bug is to get out of the donut area AND start a new drift before it will count up again. So it forces our donut drifts to be consistent.

From what I understand, the developer has largely moved onto Art of Rally, their next game. There is still a bug report thread in the game's steam forums for AD, but it's not very active these days. Still might be worth a bug report, if someone feels strongly about asking the dev to fix the donut thing.

It shouldn't matter either way. Go for it.
