There's nothing in the rules saying either way.

Once upon a time, this was 10th place... GG to everybody who has beat my time, and GL to everybody grinding to take that 1st place from NESCard. It's a tight run, but there are some mess-ups in there and not great RNG in the last room. The crown can definitely still be taken!

I was able to get the game listed on the IGDB a few days ago, so you can set it as your category on Twitch if you want to by more specific than just "Retro". It also means you can follow the category to find other people playing the game.

I appreciate the response, and respect your take. While not looking for a fight or argument, I'd like to leave a contrasting opinion that meme/fun runs are a great way to introduce people interested in speedrunning to dip their toe in the water and get an idea either of the game itself, or of speedrunning as a whole.

I see how meme runs can be a "cheap" way to stack you trophy score, though. I think the best of both worlds would require a change to the site that allows a separate section on profiles altogether that weigh/separate the "fun" runs from the more serious completionist runs. So yeah, I get that would probably never happen haha.

Rules:

The timer starts on file select, and ends when "SOCKO" is fully displayed on screen after hitting the bum (as in, the transition animation from the bum to socko has fully completed)

Popcorn_Cannon, NESs7or9, and myself have been running it for fun, but it would be cool if we could get an official chart for the game.

Whoa, that ascent through the tight vertical section near the start, and the final climb at the end were nuts. This was super cool to watch! Thanks for sharing
