Looks like it was for Double Dash

You have to finish the race with both players anyways so it's not very fast. All of this has already been thought of. There are 2p GP ILs over at https://www.mariokart64.com/mk64/150cc/ There have been some co-op runs done before though just for the fun of it.

All of our 150cc categories are specifically for 1p GP mode so not really much you can do there

Project 64 1.6 would be the one to use. Also probably set Counter Factor to 1 in Options > Settings > Rom Settings.

You can just submit your run again I think. Otherwise I can always just edit it I suppose.

Also PAL and NTSC aren't split for full game runs since they are done with RTA timing. So playing NTSC would obviously be recommended. (Our leaderboards are already segmented a ton as is with all the different consoles + skips/no skips). You can always adjust the filters to show PAL only if you'd like.

No, Wii U VC is not allowed for time trials. Time trial website: https://mariokart64.com Time trial rules: https://64.mk/mk64/rules.html

I can't imagine someone else hasn't suggested this before but it would be great to have an way to only allow centiseconds instead of milliseconds for submissions. 95% of the submissions I get to Mario Kart 64 with milliseconds on them end up with a 0 in the front of them that has to be edited because the person submitting only submitted 2 digits. For example 40'00"55 turns into 40'00"055 since the input box is milliseconds

Yes, this would be an emulator issue. On the original console, the game has a ton of lag on DK's Jungle Parkway and they compensated for it by adjusting how much the players move each frame. Read more about it here: http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/N64/MarioKart64/Patches.html

Yes, the Wii U VC release of the game is just the US version even in Europe.

People use the NTSC version for 150cc runs because it's faster.

You're playing on NTSC. 1'57"98 is the PAL WR (equivalent to 1'38"12 on NTSC). NTSC WR is 1'38"31 by MR

Also you should use Toad, Yoshi, or Peach. Wario is very slow :)

I'll be completely honest here and say that my hesitation towards adding the emulator categories has to do with the lack of serious competition the comes with people playing on emulator. We get a lot of random "let's play" type submissions, and a lot of people trying to pick up "emulator WR!!" since none of the top players play on emulator. There is also the fact that it is a very incomplete leaderboard. We have a similar problem on the current ones though. People do full game runs, and there are a lot of really great cups that have been done during full game runs that people haven't timed separately and submitted to the cup leaderboards. I'd feel the need to at least somewhat fill in times that aren't submitted which I had done for a few old record on N64.

People can definitely do cup runs and not submit to the leaderboard here if they'd like. I'll think about adding emulator though since I know there a lot of people like yourselves that probably would just like to have it listed in their profiles and such because it's a nice way to keep track of your times. In the mean time, keep track of your times on your own and be on the lookout for emu to maybe be added in months to come when I get a chance to set it up nicely.

Yeah KTB ramp jump is pretty standard heh You should check out some of the higher ranked runs :)

Since the N64 category is our main category, not allowing everdrive is more about making sure people are running on an unmodified version of the game. There's also some framerate differences when playing NTSC with a PAL console and vice versa although people submitting a run doing that is pretty rare (you weren't doing that either but just another example)

There is a line at the bottom of the rules about the hardware although I'll rephrase it to explicitly list out the details
