I'm guessing to restart Story Mode, you'd need to use another account?

are there any major game glitches for new runners to know about? how much of the game can be skipped?

I think the bosses just have less HP with only 1 Player. It's common to have boss health scaling like that in multiplayer games.

This recent trailer shows off this triple threat in gameplay:

I have a few questions with this.

  1. When do you unlock these guys? Will you unlock them right off the bat like Bandana Waddle Dee, or only unlockable after completing the main story line?
  2. Will the use of this dream character be allowed? Looking at the versatility of this character, (especially in water), I would be very overpowered in any speedrun.

First, you should know the order of each ability on the mix wheel, because it's always the same. For example, Wing is always proceeded by, Sleep, then Festival, then Sword. Once you know that, wait for the roulette to slow down. Then hit the home button when it approaches the ability you want. Once you get close, hit the A button depending on how close you are. It'll take some practice but once you get a feel for it, you get it most of the time.

Can you please change my name to Zimbo please? Since is quite a common name, I have some alternative names if they are taken. (Listed in order of preference) Zimbo7 ZimboRuns, InvaderZimbo, ZimboYT, Zimbobway. Thank you!

My suggestions: -Goal: Collect rice as long as possible. -The runner must continuously be answering questions -The run ends when no question has been answered for one minute -Some exceptions to this rule is the SAT. In this category the run ends when no question has been answered for five minutes -For any "all subject" runs, the run ends when you remain on the "subject select" screen is remained open for more than three minutes. -After every hour, the player can take a five minute break, and these minutes do not rollover. -Collecting the most amount of rice is not deciding factor, the amount of time spent is. -For any "all subject" runs, the runner must at least answer one question correctly for each category for the run to be valid.

Free Rice 3.0 here we come

I am really in favor of the Endurance Run. I would like to see the run scored based on time, and not the Rice gained or Rice Per Minute. I believe it would be best time based is because it's best for endurance. If it was about the amount of rice, people would just do the same fastest category over and over again, which will make not only the run boring, but also make the runner bored too. That's why having not to worry about the rice gained would encourage runners to do different categories, even if they do take more time to answer each question. This would make the run more fun, and make it much easier to last a long time answering questions. Of course, seeing how much rice gained overall would be nice, but it shouldn't be the main focus. That being said, I can't wait for something like this to happen.

I was thinking of something like that. Instead of an endurance run, it would just be to get 100K Grains as quick as possible using any means. But then I thought people would just do the quickest category over and over again which would just make it 100K of just that one category.

I would like to see something like this happen, but it would need some additional rules to make it more interesting.

Yeah I believe it would be better to use the URL without the seed for subject changing. That way all questions are fully RNG rather than memorization.

This exploit will only really be helpful for the longer categories like the SAT. Basically each question on FreeRice has it's own URL. For example, a question with two linear function on the SAT category will always have a URL like, freerice.com/#/sat/1521400. And a question about vocabulary would have a URL like freerice.com/#/stat/1521449. Now to get to the exploit. Let's say we are doing a 100 grain category for the SAT. Normally, this category will take a long time. However, if you study the first question (before the timer starts) and copy the URL, you can essentially get the same question 10 times in a row if you answer it, and then put the URL into the search bar to receive the same question and the same answers. And yes, each time you do this, the rice count does update correctly. The process is a bit slow, so it wouldn't break the easier categories, but it's extremely broken for SAT.

In conclusion, I believe this should be banned like fast-clicking and tab-switching.This doesn't really require much thought outside the first question. I'm not sure the limits of this exploit is, and I may update this forum post if anything else is discovered.

UPDATE #1: Yeah, almost immediately after posting this exploit, I found a new application. Recently, I discovered that tab-switching between categories has its faults. Namely the tab updates to the last category opened. However, using URL exploitation (yes that's what I'm going to be calling this) we can effectively use tab switching, in the SAME tab. Let's take a two category Math All Subject run for example. We preemptively copy the URL of a Multiplication Question. Next, we go to Basic Math and answer 10 questions. Immediately after the rice count updates with the final question, we enter the URL of the Multiplication Question. The site would update to Multiplication (with the question you copied too) and unlike tab-switching, the site WILL NOT update back to Basic Math. So something else to consider when deciding whether to ban URL exploitation or not.

I found the error. One of the 1K grain runs were for hi_im_airman, however I put it down for Jaychalke. It's fixed now and the rice counts match up now.

Thank you for the help. I was missing some obsolete runs from Oxknifer's, hi_im_airman's, and RvBAidan's toatl runs. The number now matches with your total number of rice. Jaychalke on my spreadsheet has 67 runs, while you stated he only has 66. Is that the one run you missed, or did you add that already? Anyways it should be all updated now.

discussione: Freerice
United StatesZimPractical7 years ago

Yes I have done that. Does your spreadsheet count rejected runs? Because I didn't include mine or any other rejected runs. If not, the only possible thing I can think of is the pending runs that are not yet approved, which is unlikely. I can also give you a editor's link to the spreadsheet if you wish. Operating it is very simple. Just add the latest run to the bottom of the "Add New Runs" page, and it should auto sort is distribute to every other page. I can always keep my eye on it just to make sure no glitches happen.

Hey, I made a spreadsheet featuring all current runs on the site currently, featuring the rice donated during the run. The spreadsheet also functions as an automatic calculator to update the total rice amount and the number of people fed. The sheet uses calculations to update the totals every time a new run is added to the sheet. The sheet also has four different pages with different sorting options. The sheet does NOT include pending runs, nor rejected runs. This device can be used to monitor the total rice donated by all runs, or to view your own runs and the amount of rice you donated. This sheet does NOT function as a way to view your WR's or your placement in certain categories compared to others.

Here is a link to view the spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nVKzatgNveIKEkJcTKC2ONjOC7earWXd6wEAjsHWKgM/edit?usp=sharing

And mods, if you wish, I can send you a editors link so you can add runs when they are submitted/approved.

UPDATE 1: ADDED AN AUTO SORT FEATURE! Now just add the run to the bottom of the "Add New Runs" page and it will auto sort it correctly into the 4 other pages.

UPDATE 2: ADDED RUNNER TOTALS! Now you can view your own personal total rice count, the people you fed, and the progress you made until feeding your next person. This also autosorts with the "Add New Runs" page, so no additional work is needed. To qualify for this personal total rice count, you need to submit over 10 runs to the site. I would most likely add you once you do, but if I haven't, feel free to leave a reply in the forum or DM me. Remember, this personal rice count is NOT to see how many WR's you have, and your placement among other people. However you can view how many runs you have submitted, which categories you ran, and the rice donated from the run.

UPDATE 3: ALL RUNS INCLUDED! Total Rice Count is now accurate and all submitted runs are now included!

I personally would like to see a "Fast-Click" and "No Fast-Click" categories for the 100 Grains. Even if Fast-Click is still allowed in the future for all 100 Grain Categories, I will still not use it.
