Some good information here, but I don't think a solution has been provided for the current situation. What is done in this case, where the run was for a game not originally released on the SNES Classic?
- Add the SNES Classic as a console option and use that (should be done for all SNES and SFC games?)
- Mark it as a SNES emulator, and note in the run description it was the SNES Classic
- Leave it as SNES (no emulator noted), and note in the run description it was the SNES Classic
One thing I think we can all agree on is that it shouldn't be left in its current state.
Should SNES Classic be added as a system to all SNES and SFC games?
https://www.speedrun.com/Power_Rangers_Zeo_Battle_Racers -- @1DudeinaOnesie you should at least note it in the run description.
Technically it is not the console. It is in fact an emulator.
Start at the earliest platform with graphics you can stomach, and select only games that don't currently have any runs on this site. Instant WRs will boost your confidence.
If you're going to do this, I'd say top times are enough. Don't link any videos directly, even if they're on youtube. If you sourced the information from Cyberscore, that's the link that should be provided. This gives credit where it's due and reduces the need to keep the records in sync.
Maybe it's enough to just create a forum post that links to other leaderboards, make it sticky.

Good luck.
It's better to base your game choice on games you like. If you want to do a glitchless run, then don't use glitches in whatever game interests you..
Based on Shenmue 2, here are some suggested games/series to check out (no idea if they have glitches or not)

Taking a look at the lists NCH provided, here are my picks for fun games/speedruns.

Use a splitter or Y-cables to plug one set into your TV, and the other into your capture card.
It's possible that someone still wants to mod a game, but no active runners have been around for months, so they stop coming back to the site. Given the chance, they may still be up for modding the game. This change enables them to have that chance.
If they get bothered by being asked to mod the game again they can request to be removed (or do it themselves).
S-video is disabled on the PAL GameCube, according to this: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/gamecube/915781-gamecube/faqs/34663
Lost Kingdoms 1 and 2 are short RPG runs.
Switch Digital? Switch Download? Nintendo calls it the eShop, so maybe something like that?
As long as it's obvious, I don't think it matters what we call it here, and VC is fairly easily identified as Virtual Console even if Nintendo is avoiding that name.
Someone in another thread mentioned there's a setting on the PS4 broadcaster to enable chat display, and a further option to have a timer display there. I'm not sure what settings those are though as I don't speedrun on the PS4. Good luck.
If you really want to get in on the ground floor of a game, just pick a game that doesn't show up in the search or has 0 runs submitted.
anyone want to start a number guessing game using Google Search results, or possibly an animal guessing game with Google Images?
