I posed this questions in a video a while back but posted nothing here.
So I am making a post here to maybe push the discussion forward a little and for new people to see this as well.

I know this has been discussed quite a bit in the past but I would like to bring it up again because I really do think it is possible and would be fun if we could have A ) Multiplayer Runs & B ) Longer runs because of it.
Regarding "A", I've mentioned in a previous post on how we can solve to make sure that all players are not cheating, we can possibly do what they do in Borderland 2 does and simply have both players record. "Host Perspective and/or splits are required. For competitive times, all players perspectives are required." Have the time start when both players hit start on the character screen and time when the boss of the specific category is defeated (Instead of completing the quest to avoid complications). Besides that, the rest of the rules would pretty much remain the same, No crown items, no mounts, etc... I understand that it would take more time for the verification to go through since there is more video, that's just a given. I would honestly be down to help with that if it were to become the case.
If the multiplayer does become a realm of possibility, so can longer runs. I understand why longer runs right now are not really a possibility, anything past Krokotopia would be a nightmare. But with more then a single player, things do become a little easier. We would not be restricted to just storm anymore for trying to get a record and instead having a Storm (x2), Balance & Life or something along those lines. This would be something that personally I would only do with 3+ people past Krokotopia, because I do not want to spend 8 Hours in DragonSpyre.
These are my thoughts on the subject and willing to discuss this further if it can be in the realm of possibilities. I'm just trying to find new ways that would be fun to speedrun this RNG Heavy game.
We could make it so that there would have to be video proof from both/all Players participating, Kinda like how the Borderland 2 Speedrun is ran. "Host Perspective and/or splits are required. For competitive times, all players' perspectives are required." That would make it difficult for people to cheat that way. That could also open up for potential longer and more difficult runs.
Sorry for late response...
What about 2-4 Player Categories? Like 2 Player Wizard City% or something.
I didn't know that youtube had that. Huh. But everyone is also posting through twitch.
Because we are getting closer and closer to a time that cannot be beaten, I added a couple of things to make the leader board a little more fair.
1 - I added Ms into the time. Because getting a tie is likely without this, and the fact that runs are getting to that "perfect" time. You will need an external timer for your runs later on or your run will be denied.
2 - I updated everyone's runs to have the ms in the time. For the people that did not have a time, I did an estimate of how long and put that.
3 - I changed the leaderboard to work from the in game time to real time. The in game timer is nice and accurate, however it does not display the ms we will need for later runs.
4 - I added chriswft as a verifier.
That is all the updates that I did. If you have any concerns about this update, please let me know and we will try to come up with a fix.
Ps. If anyone ever gets this game in a GDQ, I will pay them $50 CAD. Not joking.
