As you may have noticed the boards have been separated into 2 categories due to some constraints with the new advanced tutorial; one for controller users and one for touch screen users. Following this update will come a few changes. For starters, the rule that prohibited movement while text boxes were on the screen in the basic tutorial has been lifted! As far as we know this is only possible on controller, but now that the leaderboards have been separated feel free to use this to your advantage! (There is similar controller limited advantages in the advanced tutorial as well, thus why the boards have been separated.)
Happy Running : )
I think having to score 1 goal (or maybe 3 if it's too short) on all 3 maps in exhibition as fast as possible would be fun. Since there would only be 3 sub categories for the skill levels, you could also do 1s and 2s so theres 6.
...or is it?
For anyone wondering, this is only possible on the old version of the game which you can download here:
https://archive.org/details/Beavus
Btw, the old version is just slower everywhere else so I wouldn't try speed running on it.
All runs have officially been re-timed without load times due to some runs having shorter loads. Future runs will also be timed without loads.
Side note - I really think the game is fully optimized at this point lol
So I found something interesting. Either the hitbox of the logs change when they bob up and down or Beavus' hitbox changes when he does that little hop in his running animation. I don't know if this could help with any potential time saves or glitches in the future for better runs but heres the video for proof.
Just thought it was interesting. Also I have a record awaiting verification with a time of 2:30.533 so yee :)
Ayeee, I think I just set a new world record. Awaiting verification. When I saw the current wr I thought it was perfect but I found a new strat that allows you to only wall bounce once at the start of level 12 if you do a frame perfect jump and implemented the three log grab in level 13 to get a couple seconds lower. 🙂
