This is the ghost skip. It's quite chaotic but can save a capture and cutscene.

What seems to happen is that the ghost spawns outside of normal parameters and gets confused.

Sometimes its faster then that what is shown here and will disappear immediately without going down.

It may be possible that this can be done on other bosses which can be ended near the end of the screen, such as hotel boss 2, undead scyther, fireman and puppet master, but the time it may take to position the enemy may not be worth the time save. If anybody can confirm a setup please post here.

OUTDATED. See 2nd post for WR strats.

Sub 30 is quite possible, even without 100% knowledge of maps and average RNG. Here are some pro tips.

  1. Find potions to use on the boss.

Poison potion is essential for massive time save, but you can also use lead and speed. Use potions found on floor 1-4 to find PU as you need those early power points.

  1. Use Scrolls Late Game.

You are likely to find 1 or 2 appraise scrolls and these can be used to identify potions. Potions found at L10-15 are likely to be poison, but they rarely appear TWICE. Speed and lead potions can be found L10-L30.

  1. Don't go too fast to avoid levels, you need power points.

Once you find a hand or battle axe, you're going to want to train at fast kill floors. 7-8, 11-12, 19-20. Kill most enemies that are on your path early on then only touch a few safe isolated ones. AVOID SPELLCASTERS.

  1. SUICIDE STRAT

Should you fail at finding appraise scrolls or you have several unidentified potions/scrolls, if you spawn at floor 20 or floor 25 with lots of nasty enemies, consider using all your potions and scrolls to identify them, then suicide. This will guarantee your boss potion strat and also identify and save a free chaos/teleport scroll.

Best of luck to all runners.

It looks impossible. I thought it was impossible.

But ladies and gentlemen I present to you fresh from Disney Acrobats Incorporation... the Spring Gem Jump!

Could it be almost frame perfect?

Whether by update or bug, there is no way for me to select the game speed to be 2.0 upon the start of a campaign level.

William Wallace 1 is fixed at 1.5

El Cid 1 is fixed to 1.7

Under "game" the speed is set to fast but there is no button to select a speed.

The button becomes available in single player and multiplayer, but not in campaign. In single and multiplayer it will remember the speed I set it to last and start at 2.0.

The ONLY workaround is by using the hotkeys to increase speed, but it will always reset to either 1.5 or 1.7 at the start and I will have to manually shift it up at the start of each and every attempt.

Am I okay to proceed under these circumstances?

discussione: Dungeon Keeper 2

I've began the process of creating new categories. The first batch of individual levels are up, the remaining levels and pet dungeon category to be created in the following days, so hop it evil keepers and smash out those times!

I've decided to ban the use of /console for new runs beyond this point. I am sure there are quality keepers willing to earn their rank of master who can surpass the two hour mark for a full run.

I've also had the idea of "waiving crash time" - since DK2 crashes a lot and this might alienate full game runners. How would you feel about this?

Good luck evil ones!

Hey you've added me! I'll take a peak at the menu options over the coming weeks and make some updates and upgrades, individual levels etc.

I can also update the rules so we have some. I want perhaps a vote on whether /console should be permitted or not.

Any new runners wishing to get into this game will be very welcome.

Having two mods gives good guarantee that runs can be verified with greater haste. Sign me up! :)

"General Speedrunning Experience"

I'm last on almost every board i'm on. :(

Submit any full RTA runs you have, let's get this game some support!

I'm feeling a bit uneasy aswell about the use of the console control to load up levels. I would want clarification on this as the current WR holder uses /console to load up levels.

Please make a run and get it on the board knowhow, show master Whizzy how its done!

If you are going to stream attempts live, message me what your streaming platform is.

discussione: Darkstone

Trying to even get a single moment of playable Darkstone is proving impossible using the Steam version and Open Broadcast Software.

Widow Capture doesn't work. Game Captures never works on anything, and display capture just shows a black blank screen.

It is possible to do it in a window mode but the colours become distorted and the interface is blacked out and unusable.

Looking at the current run on the board its clear some might also experience extensive flickering issues.

The only true solution is to skip screen capture all together and do it through external means like a webcam. It's going to look ugly, but it might be acceptable provided we can verify the run.

Unless somebody knows of another program or a workaround, I'd like to try and go down this path. Darkstone would be incredibly fun to run!

Whoa hi there. If I was a mod I'd whip up individual levels! That would be fun!

Now this is most wanting of some science. Thanks for your clip good sir.

*Goes and gets 99 lives.

I know in other sonic games and most categories, time including deaths is necessary. I prefer the rules for DX, allows manipulation, and multiple moments of extreme scrubbiness.

It doesn't state in the rules about dying when using IGT for individual levels.

So technically I can have a 3 hour run of one level where I keep restarting over and over in order to make each checkpoint segment perfect?

discussione: Age of Empires II

Okay I understand. Some campaign levels have a fixed speed that cannot be changed in the options, therefore I will do all runs on 2.0, the standard "FAST" speed. I'll be submitting some runs!

discussione: Age of Empires II

Hello! I want to speedrun lots of campaign levels... but I am really confused. The rules say we can speedrun no higher than 2.0, but 2.0 is "FAST" while all the speedruns on the board are done at 1.5 which is "NORMAL". I can see the text "NORMAL" on some runs.

So what am I running at? FAST or NORMAL? If I follow the rules and do it on 2.0 which the rules say I can, I will have an unfair advantage against all other players?

Can you make it clear for me what speed I need to use otherwise I can't run? :(
