I'm on a 2070 super which is probably somewhat similar to your card. It has been running pretty great and usually around 100fps with a few settings adjusted and I'm even on 2560x1440. Sometimes in the worst spots outside with heavy action it can dip to 70ish, but it also goes up to 140-150ish in the less taxing areas indoors. I have even had success recording it with a fairly high bit rate and it stayed fine.
Edit: I did put it on 80% rendering though and lowered some other settings. Even with default settings though there wasn't too much of a difference.
Hope the run is coming together Brielle! I know you said you don't stream your practice and strats but it sounds like you are sitting on some pretty cool stuff over there. I am going to play around with some OOB stuff tonight, see if I can find anything special.
@Londrekia_senpai not sure what we could be doing different off the top of my head, this is the route I'm trying to follow though if you wanna check the first 10 min or so:
edit: you will see that right when he gets the arrow to the knee he is at 9:13 and someone in chat says they got a consistent 9:10 every time. Maxy and I both shoot the Lycan on the roof ~ 5:30 (I kinda suck so mine is usually like 5:31 or 5:32). I follow exactly what he does during the event, then he somehow ends a good 15 seconds ahead of me. /shrug
edit2: I somehow just managed a 9:14 after trying a bunch of random stuff. This time I just hung out near Urias spawn and stared at the fence. I had to turn to the left a bit to kill Lycans and then turn to the right to kill Urias, but it seemed to be the best time I could manage. I'm just happy I somewhat figured out how to do it, I just need to see if it's consistent.
Hey very neat, I haven't actually seen it done from that side. If you didn't realize though, right when you shoot off a different first lock to enter the village, you can actually see this lock from that gate across the yard and shoot it from a distance. A quick pot shot with the rocket pistol takes care of it (though you can use anything, rocket pistol just requires less precision).
If you can whip around the corner and hit that shot while running though, your way COULD actually be faster, though probably almost negligible. Cool find regardless.
OMG I was trying to hit sub 1:30 and ended up hitting 1:31:00 flat.
I'm not even upset about the parts I botched, I'm more pissed off that I don't understand what I'm doing wrong in the first beginning horde event section. My best time ever is 9:20 and I can't even get that anymore, usually get around 9:25 or 9:26. I have watched maxylobe's 1:26:xx run and I start the event at the SAME time he does, or maybe a second later, and then I try to copy EVERYTHING he does and yet he ends up at 9:13 and I end up at 9:26, I just don't get it. I've experimented with FPS changes, V-sync, standing still and causing the spawns to stop, etc. I even had one run glitched where I just sat there forever and the arrow or arm never even came. For the life of me though I can't figure out why I'm a solid 15+ seconds behind during this section....
@REactually As far as skipping cutscenes I am just hitting Esc and F but I don't think it's quite as important in this one because the timer stops during any skippable cutscenes anyway, so you can be slow on the draw or even watch the whole thing if you want to.
@Londrekia_senpai VERY nice job!! I am on PC and my current record is only like 1:33:00ish but I messed up a ton, my current goal is sub 1:30:00 also. Maybe I will copy you and try a knife run when I hit that goal.
I just practiced the OOB skip and going to the right when you're OOB and lining up on the side building rather than falling into the grass. Seems pretty legit! Thank you to everyone who discovered these.
I too just saw that, I am going to mess around and see if I can get my time down any in this section. I generally take an arrow to the knee around 9:20 but I saw Maxylobes get it around 9:10- 9:13 so I definitely need to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Thank you for the info, I will try to play around with this on PC and see if I can save some time.
NG+ any% casual on PC new time of 1:37:49 (I even got eaten by Moreau randomly which has never happened). I am improving but I think it's time I look at some strats, this is just me running off of memory though and I know I can improve my Lady D and Heisenberg fights by a lot.
edit: hmmm, looks like I need to learn the OOB strat next
edit2: wow that wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be! I can get the pipe bomb/castle OOB first try almost every time, going to try to implement it in a run now, fingers crossed!!
edit3: big "thank you" going out to CursedToast, Distortion2, Maxylobes, Quag, H1ppo, VideoGameRoulette, Bawkbasoup, for the streams and tools and runs and strats
edit4 (just because I don't want to spam replies): I incorporated the OOB strat PERFECTLY in a run, first try, unfortunately the rest of my run was hot garbage and I got eaten by Moreau again (this time in a different spot). I still ended up with a huge PB of 1:33:29. I know I'm definitely capable of a sub 1:30 using OOB and that will be my next goal.
First real attempt at NG+ any% casual on PC, finished at 1:39:46 gametime (1:39:00 LiveSplit w/ load remover) and know a bunch of spots I botched. I am quite happy with this though as this is my first game ever speed running and my first time using LiveSplit and an SRT (other than some dabbling with RE7). I can't wait for the autosplitter.
Hey guys, new here and I had a couple of dumb questions. I recently started using LiveSplit and have been using CursedToast's splits that auto-generates when you select RE:7 at the top. Seeing as there are no autosplits available yet for RE8, is everyone just looking at the end time that is given when the run ends? I have been watching a couple of content creators such as Distortion2 and it seems like he somehow has autosplits working for RE8? Surely he isn't remembering to manually press the "next segment" button at the exact correct moments is he? I see that CursedToast just released a Load Remover but I assume that this is just to pause the overall timer whenever you are loading and/or paused and doesn't help with splits of any sort?
Keep in mind I may be missing something entirely here, like the ability to easily create your own splits maybe? I have only been using LiveSplit for a day or 2 now and only for RE:7. I created my own segments for RE:7 using the generated splits but I assume it would be pointless to create segments for RE:8 without there being splits yet right? Unless you do them manually that is? (I hope I'm using the vocabulary correctly)
Thanks
Edit: upon further inspection, I see that Distortion2's segments are pretty large chunks, I guess he actually IS manually moving them, not so hard when there is only 5-6 total and it's not a big deal if the segments are a little off anyhow.
