@rewan Just because they can't afford Minecraft doesn't mean they should be excluded from the speedrunning community. You are right, if they are a littler kid and can't afford MC might mean they won't be able to get a good time, but regardless, even if you can't get a good time, it is still fun to get PB's and see them on the official leaderboard. Isn't it?
You can, but your run will most likely be retimed regardless.
You can use a program called MCLauncher if you are on PC, unfortuanetly there is no way to downgrade on anything other than Windows 10 that I know of. I would just look up: "How to Downgrade Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition", that's how I figured it out anyway.

From my understanding, you cannot use Optifine because it affects mob spawning. You can use other mods like Sodium or Phosphor that boost performance also, as an alternative to Optifine. Look in the rules and resources, you can find the info you need.
Yeah I noticed that too, not saying that I have submitted a run, but I've been practicing for a while.
It takes a lot of skill to execute luck. If I tried to run that seed, there is no way it would be a sub 20. It might not look like much, but that was very good execution.
