I'm going to agree with Thomastd here, we already have so many things to verify as is. We don't fully stay true to the way DSDA does, but we do for main categories. Levels in DOOM are already short where full IWADs are being finished in 18-25 mins (depending).

Meme categories aren't my thing and I personally would not want to deal with the influx of everything on ever level just to watch someone get killed by an imp. I did mention this post to 2 other mods and it was a no from them. There would need to be a specific want or desire to have these categories from multiple active players before it would be talked about in a more serious context.

If you try quickloading without a quicksave active, it should do the same thing. That or trying to quickload with the wrong addin selected

Bethesda.net and the invisible menu glitch are both insanely annoying. Bethesda.net is seemingly random for me, but the invisible menu glitch usually comes from navigating too quickly during initial load of the game for me. No real fixes yet but you'd hope they would release something... some day...

Hello, while we all understand this rule can be frustrating, it is still a rule that has been agreed on for verification purposes. The mod team needs to be able to see when specific instances happen on the messages, especially quicksaves because it has a message appear. If a run has no visible quicksaves and suddenly warps back to a spot for a trick, it will invalidate the run.

Before I was a mod, I had a few PC runs rejected for the same reason and have also had runs when playing on my phone become invalid due to inbound text messages. Due to the text messages invalidating my runs, I started playing on Do Not Disturb mode. I did see the run in question that you’re talking about and it is unfortunate that the screen recording notification came up.

Please take a moment to review the rules as they have been in place for 3 years now.

This request makes sense to me. I have created Hard Any% and 100% for both Full Game and Individual Levels.

scuffed is correct. Quicksaves/Quickloads are allowed for full game or full episode runs, just not IL runs - I will get that added to the rules

---- Edit ---- The following information as was added to the Main Game rules:

  • Video submission is required for all runs and in their entirety.

  • Runs of any kind MUST show the messages in the top left in full. If they are covered in any way, moderators may reject your run at their discretion.

  • Full game and full episode runs are RTA (quick saving/loading is allowed).

  • Individual Levels use the in-game timer at the end of the level (NO quick saving/loading is allowed).

  • Please see category rules for additional information.

Howdy, the Steam version does belong here. When you fire up the game, select the "Play <DOOM game>" and that would be unity. The other two options lead to DOSBOX and those would go to the other boards. Let us know if you have any other questions!
